Summary
Alan Titchmarsh's sparkling new novel is a delicious blend of humour and romance and a resounding affirmation that there is no such thing as the generation gap.
The voice on the other end of the phone was severe.
'It's your grandmother.'
'Yes?'
'She's been arrested.'
Nick Robertson has become used to his grandmother Rosie's dotty behaviour. At 86, a widow now, she is determined that before life passes her by, she will live a little. Or preferably a lot. It wouldn't be so bad if Nick had nothing else to do, but with a job to find, two warring parents to cope with and a love life in terminal decline, he would prefer his grandmother to get on with things quietly. But, Rosie insists, there is no time like the present....

Charming
Lovely to listen to Alan telling this sweet, funny, intriguing tale. Very enjoyable and I learned a bit about diamonds and Russian history too.

An unusual read
The character of Rosie and Alan’s description of her is brilliant. I loved the Russian connection. How does he think of these stories ?

Beautiful narration of a fascinating story
I loved this book. The narration was superb and the story intriguing. The characters were real and Rosie’s story I could relate to something similar about my Mother’s life. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole book and wish there could be a sequel.

What a wonderful story
This is the first book I have read by Alan Titchmarsh and I couldn’t stop listening until the end. It had everything I enjoy in a good story, plus a tear or two towards the end. Now I’m going to find another by this author ….. straight away ❤️
