Summary

Despite the progress we have made, women are still faced with discrimination and bias in the workplace every day. The only way to prove our capabilities is to be great leaders!

Women have more challenges when it comes to leadership roles with gender bias being one of the biggest hurdles.

Women are either seen as dainty, proper ladies who are too quiet to lead or as the other extreme: bossy, aggressive, and unladylike.

Consequently, while women have the skills and qualifications to lead, it’s still the men who are more likely to be offered opportunities.

Now, we can talk for days about the glass ceiling and how unfair the gender gap is without really achieving anything or we can do something about it.

This audiobook will give you the tools and skills you need to excel as a leader and show others how effective women can be. Here is just a fraction of what you will discover:

  • Exactly why the world needs more female leaders and what is holding women back
  • Fourteen leadership styles and how to discover the best one that fits your personality

Great read. A must for everyone

This book should be under the business section, not just self improvement and humanities studies. It is in a logical order that grows on the previous chapters.

Great insight on leading as a woman. It explains hiw as women we can lead very well with out taking on male styles which are not working and are outdated.
It does not hate on men but gives ways to lead.
I will register and will make notes.
This book will never date.

Impressive leadership book

What a book! For a long time, I was looking for a book about women leaders, and since I recently joined the Women Leaders project in my workplace, this book came to me at the right time. During my studies I got to know the seven leaderships styles, but this book has added another seven which is great to know and also will benefit me in my practical journey and benefit the department in which I work. Also, this book talks about one of the important aspects of my career, which is communication skills, and how they can be used in managing the team. There are also many, many tools that help us in our journey towards leadership. The Author did a great job by mentioning (imposter syndrome) which we all experienced it at some point on our careers, and how to overcome it. It is not an easy job to do because people around us give us this kind of feelings and that reflects back as an imposter syndrome. What I much like about this book is the introduction which was all about inspiring women all over the world. In this book there are several tools to help us manage stress as the job is very overwhelming.
Great book, well structured, well narrated. Highly recommended.

Great Female Power Book, But Exhausting To Listen!

This is a great book on female empowerment. The authors have laid out a lot of important points and scenarios for females on how to be effective managers and leaders. The leadership styles and techniques mentioned can be used to good effect by anyone.

The authors have arranged the chapters nicely and given a summary of each chapter at the end and a few lines of what will come in the next chapter. This helps in understanding the matter well.

However, the book's narration is monotonous, and sometimes the narrator speeds through some portions, making it difficult to understand and tedious to listen to after some time. Also, there are external noises in the audio, which is disturbing.

What also put me off was that the prose and tone became downright combative in some places, which was not required at all. The authors seem to have a chip on their shoulders and want to correct all the world's wrongs through this book, which should not be the case. Sure, there have been grave injustices in the past, and they are continuing in some places, and the required change is less and slow. But that is not the topic or subject of this book! The authors need not pull down the other side to empower females. Female empowerment is required in the workplace and every sphere across the landscape. And this change is already happening, which is great! The authors need to understand that any person with the required qualifications, ability, capability, and experience would make a good manager and leader, regardless of that person's sex or color.

Apart from these few negative points, the book is good and would help people to lead.
