About this listen
Cybernetics, mounting debt, and a flight for survival.
In the sprawling city of Artem, Rus dreams of soaring the skies, while Pim, a tiny hybrid of walrus and rat, faces a world of cruelty. Both are thrust into situations they never imagined, their fates bound by the unforgiving tides of destiny.
Rus, a fearless runner by day and racer by night, stands at the brink of eviction, with his family's home hanging in the balance. After a catastrophic accident, he's faced with a life-changing choice: undergo experimental modifications and be forever indebted to the ominous M-Corp or be left to perish. As Rus grapples with his new reality, Pim's journey of hope and despair intertwines with Shay, a ten-year-old scavenger, revealing the harshest aspects of city life.
From the luxurious heights of helo flying to the grimy underbelly of the city transporting mods, their tales are a testament to resilience, the friends they meet along the way, and the relentless pursuit of dreams in the face of insurmountable odds. Dive into a world where technology pushes boundaries, and every decision has repercussions that echo throughout a city on the edge.
Tailspin is a cyberpunk-inspired LitRPG featuring a rich kid, yet still a rags-to-riches adventure!

Really deep emotions!
First of all, the story was amazing! The drama the emotional rollercoasters and the really intricate world and character building!
*Possible Spoiler*
The only thing I might have a gripe about is the relationship between Rus and Mel! It was a bit unnatural how adamant they are to not feel for something romantic between the two. Really spoiled it a bit for me.

Even better Audio than Book
With so many good books out there the audios need to stand out and after the intricate world building of Artem from such good authors I wasn’t sure if the audio could enhance the story more.
So this actually works better and although I read the 2nd book of this series I feel the main characters come to life really well and you understand them even more because of the narration.
I expected a high quality from such good narrators but this seemed to be a particularly worthwhile effort.
The emotional connection is the strongest in the Artem world from this series and the tech insight also helps as we are based on a primarily military setting. This is my favourite series from Chapman so far and one I'm willing to fight to get more than the two initial offerings.

Great first book
i thoroughly enjoyed the story and its development. The progression is well balanced and the character development and relationships are crafted fantastically.
There are moments of triumph as well as tragedy where the narration is fab, bringing emotion in as required at the right times.
Fantastic story showing the power of a character driven narrative. It's woven plot and prose make it a must listen for anyone who appreciates the art of storytelling.
Looking forward to Book 2.
