Summary

“First, do no harm....”

It’s the start of my oath as a doctor, and breaking that oath is how I began my career.

Only I didn’t just do harm, I watched a man die right in front of me.

And not just any man - a man I hated. I thought his death would bring me peace, but it haunts me to this day.

Every close call sparks memories of what I did to him, to me, to her.

I have to go back and face what I’ve done or end my career.

Seeing her hits me harder than the regret.

She’s still so beautiful with long, dark hair, bright amber eyes, luscious curves. She still dominates my heart, my mind, my bed.

But she’s different now - stronger, bolder, unafraid.

We’re a mess, tangled up in a web I created.

But I’m determined to heal these wounds, to fix this break. One thing is certain, I won’t say good-bye to her again.

(A stand-alone Bayside Heroes novel. Small-town, second-chance doctor romance with a touch of suspense. No cheating. No cliff-hanger.)

Wonderful Story & Narration🎧Gripping & Heartfelt!

I loved everything about this book, from Tia Louise’s wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. This is a standalone novel set in the “Bayside Heroes” world, the story is interesting and original, it immediately grabbed my attention and captivated it the entire book. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. I adored the two lead characters, Dr. Beckham “Beck” Munroe and Caroline “Carly” Dennison, the secondary characters are amazing too. Beck is a doctor in Bayside General in Tampa who specializes in geriatrics. He has a patient who is from the town he grew up in, Eden by the Sea, Jeb Callahan aka Mr. C was in a car accident and brought into the E.R. Mr. C recognized Beck right away. Seeing him brought back memories not only of his home town but of the only girl he ever loved, Carly. Beck had not been back to Eden in a while and decided to go, check on the house he has there and Mr. C. He was not expecting to see her there, she had moved away to Pensacola and is a criminal psychologist with the police department. Carly received threats after a prisoner failed to return from her furlough her chief thought it would be best if she left town until the prisoner was captured so she went back to her hometown to visit her Aunt Viv and brother Henry who is the Vet in Eden. She did not expect to see Beck, her first love, and the man who broke her heart. As soon as Beck saw her he knew it was not over between them and that there were things they needed to talk about, some he was afraid to tell her. The chemistry between them never went away, it was hotter than ever and they could not deny themselves. I loved how everything played out in this beautifully plotted second chance romance, loved the small town setting and charm too. There is never a dull moment in this book, the story contains plenty of drama, heartfelt emotions, a touch of angst, some twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments and steamy romance. Tia Louise, thank you for this wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Troy Duran and Samantha Brentmoor’s talent have no bounds, they had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, giving each a voice that fit their character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the character to sound. Troy Duran nailed it as Beck and grasped his personality completely, S. Brentmoor did the same for Carly, both were amazing performing the roles of all the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and their narration enhances an already brilliant story another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen, it is always a pleasure to listen to your work.

Be Still My Heart!

Tia Louise does it again. Sucks me in and keeps me listening straight through a book. This is the last of her Bayside Heroes books, we get to know Beck! He has been speckled through the other books, but now we get to see exactly what makes this doctor tick. After treating a patient, he knew as a teen, he takes time to go back home and check on him. Little does he know that the woman that captured his heart all those years ago will be there too. Carly is back visiting her aunt as a precautionary measure of her job. Threatened by an escaped patient, her life may be in danger. Now these two meet by accident and all the unresolved feelings come to the surface. Steamy, exciting and suspense filled, Louise lets live with this couple as their broken hearts are revisited. Beck is holding a secret too that may just blow up the reunion. Steamy, exciting and suspense filled, Louise lets live with this couple as their broken hearts are revisited. Both Beck and Carly have issues that need to be overcome, and the suspense story is both heart wrenching and just scary enough to make me need to know the whole story! A great listen with great characters!

Narrated by Troy Duran and Samantha Brentmoor, I knew it was going to captivate me. Both are high on my list of favorites, and they did not disappoint. Duran led us straight to our hearts with Beck. Broken, guilty and so in love, we find so many different feels in his voice. Brentmoor gives us the strong yet vulnerable Carly. She brings out her incredible heart and compassion along with her love. This is a team you should not miss telling you a story!
