Summary

NEW YORK CITY, USA. Archaeologist Nina Wilde's life has fallen apart - her husband, ex-SAS soldier Eddie Chase, is on the run, falsely accused of murder. Her only diversion has been investigating the origin of three strange statues stolen from her just before his disappearance. When Nina discovers they may be dangerous relics from the lost civilisation of Atlantis, it's clear that she has to get back in the game, and fast.

Meanwhile, Eddie tries to stay ahead of the authorities as he hunts the man responsible for his fugitive status across the globe. A mysterious benefactor offers the information he needs - but the price will put him in direct conflict with his wife.

TOKYO, Japan. When Nina learns that a Japanese industrialist has obtained the statues on the black market, she immediately heads to Tokyo to meet him, unaware that Eddie is also on his way. Their arrival unleashes a devastating chain of events that sets Nina and Eddie on their most dangerous quest ever - with the future of humanity itself at stake....

Cracking adventure

I enjoyed this fast paced story very much, but this wasn't the first book in the series and there where many references to earlier stories, the narrator was top notch loved his accents they where fab and added a lot to the book, my only gripe is with Audible why oh why do they just do the odd book out of a series? This book was 8th in the series and it's the only one available, why not start from book 1?

A seriously good book!!!

The narrator took a little getting used to as the characters didn't sound quite as I imagined them to be - but that aside, this is a really good book. With love, treasure, explosions, a good villain and a happy ending - what more could you want!?

I wouldn't recommend reading/listening to this series out of order however, as it really will spoil to other books!  Hopefully other titles by this author will become available soon!

A credit very well spent!

A great story full of twists and turns

This is the first Eddie Chase story I have listened to. I will certainly be listening to more if and when they become available.

Adventurous fun genre

Far-fetched, fantastic but lots of fun in a genre I enjoy - what more could you ask for?

What makes this book for me is the Performance by Gareth Armstrong - he is brilliant and brings out the dry, sardonic wit of the Eddie Chase character in particular.

If I were Andy McDermott, I'd be well satisfied that my book is being presented thus.

Recommended.

Eddy has had a head transplant not the same narrator no longer from Yorkshire despite poor try

This is supposed to be the same narrator. Yet different voice/accents for main character for the 1st 7 books throws you off completely. Will delete and re download as no one has mentioned this but seems to have had a head transplant
