A truly positive surprise - experience talking

Ive been active in the world of startups for 10+ years and this book surprised me with its down to earth non bs reasoning and super actionable steps! And its just a pleasure to hear how Joel Richards reads it - a high quality past time!

loved it, implemented it and now getting benefits from it. If you only have one page of marketing, let it be from guidance of this book.

A book of two halves

The book is a very useful resource for any small business or start up and gives good all round advice. I would certainly recommend it for a listen. I found most of the content in the first half of the book with the second half being filled with anecdotes and examples of how not to run a business.

It's get a little tiring after a while but there are a few strategies that u can definitely put in place for your business right away.

Not as useful as I hoped

This book was really a compendium of other books already existing in the business genre, many of which were clearly referenced, so it wasn’t a copycat but more of a collection.
For some readers it might be a useful overview that would point to more significant resources, but unfortunately for me I had already consumed many of its references and therefore I could clearly see from where it was drawing its inspiration and the lack of originality in the overall content.
The online resources provided alongside were not really exclusive to the book with only a single page (the one page marketing concept) being something to give proper consideration and the rest, text, pictures and videos, whilst occasionally thought provoking were not inspirational or motivating for me to put in the work required.
When listening to some business books the content is so mindful/motivational that you feel the need to rewind/review/take notes... but for the most part this book was an easy listen that had a few thoughtful nuggets but little ‘call to action’. Happy to have read it but a little disappointed that it didn’t fire me up.

It's ok

I have read better and learnt more in my life. The concept of a one page marketing plan is quirky, but really this is marketing for beginners'.

This is one to listen to over and over

This book got better as it progressed, setting out clear and actionable marketing insights. Links to the supporting website are great with some great content on there.
