Summary
The evil Duke of cold Coffin Castle fancies he has frozen time by stopping all of the clocks. He is fearful that one day a Prince may come and win away the hand of his niece, beautiful Princess Saralinda—the only warm hand in the castle. Several suitors have tried to court the Princess, but the Duke assigns them impossible tasks to thwart that fate. A few days before Saralinda's twenty-first birthday, a mysterious prince arrives to complete a seemingly impossible task and free Saralinda from the clutches of her uncle.

Delightful
Edward Woodward gives a masterful narration of this classic Thurber fairy tale with marvellous portrayals of the different characters, bringing the whole to life just as one expects of the best audio book reader actors.
The audio book also has a sound track and sound effects accompanying the reader throughout, which is the first time I have come across this. I was not sure I liked it at first, but having listened to the whole tale quite a few times now I find I like it very much.

Absolutely fantastic!
Amazing work from the narrator, doing all the characters' voices sound so distinct and all the different ways of talking. The sound effects were also spot on, and the author's style and word choices are superb! An utterly delightful listen, I will certainly recommend this audiobook to everyone I know!
I just want to listen to this at least once whilst having a printed copy of the book in front of me, as there was unfortunately a few words I couldn't understand, even after repeating some passages a number of times...

Very strange and very enjoyable
I don't normally like audiobooks with music and sound effects, but it worked very well in this instance. The story was even weirder than I had heard, and I enjoyed it a lot.

all great apart from the music
The story is great and so is the narration, but the background music is annoying.

Music too loud
The music is too intrusive and noisy. The story is great, funny, whimsical and strange. I’d recommend a kindle or paperback instead

Infuriating background music
A good book completely ruined by loud, tedious and completely inappropriate music throughout the whole story.
