About this listen
Discover the 10 things your kids need to know about money before they leave home.
Forget chore charts, guesswork and parenting guilt: you won't find any of that in this road map for raising hard-working, generous and financially confident kids of all ages. In the same easy-to-listen style that made The Barefoot Investor a phenomenal success, Barefoot Investor for Families, first published in 2018, is aimed at parents who want to teach their kids the value of a buck.
Scott Pape has taken the 10 money milestones kids need to nail and laid them out for you in a simple, step-by-step plan. Over the course of 10 hilarious, poignant and sometimes downright crazy 'Barefoot Money Meals', you'll get the skinny on:
- The simple pocket money strategy that takes just three minutes a week
- The kitchen challenge that 'breaks the brat' and shows kids how good they've got it
- Helping your teen land their first job (even with zero experience)
- The $453,329 gift to your child that won't cost you a cent
- How to boost your kids into the property market with the 'Barefoot Ladder' strategy
Along the way, you'll meet proud families from all walks of life who have used this exact plan to give their kids life-changing money skills. If you're a parent, grandparent, uncle, aunty, or have children in your life, whether they're two or 22, it's never too early or too late to start.

I highly recommend this book
Even though targeted at Australian parents, so much of this translates to U.K. parents. I can’t wait to put into practise the advice, and currently crying my eyes out having listened to the final chapters of will writing. It really does cover everything your child needs to be set financially for life. I only wish my parents had listened to this when I was a baby.

Great advice and compliments life lessons
Scott Pape's books are laden with stories and anecdotes to support his points, however this particular book had some long ones so I skipped them as I was eager to hear the content of the specific lessons, which are very good. Recommended!

Absolutely Brilliant
Cannot recommend this enough. Buy it and get started. I am experiencing a tangible reduction in stress and that feeling of dread is disappearing. I'm so thankful to have friends who recommended this to me while my kids are still young. I feel proud to have gotten started on the steps. The future is looking bright!
