Summary

Full of her trademark mix of unforgettable characters and heartbreaking secrets, The Butterfly Room is the new spellbinding, multi-generational story from Sunday Times best seller Lucinda Riley.

Posy Montague is approaching her 70th birthday. Still living in her beautiful family home, Admiral House, set in the glorious Suffolk countryside where she spent her own idyllic childhood catching butterflies with her beloved father, and raised her own children, Posy knows she must make an agonising decision.

The house is crumbling around her, and Posy knows the time has come to sell it. Then a face appears from the past - Freddie, her first love, who abandoned her and left her heartbroken 50 years ago.

Already struggling to cope with her son Sam’s inept business dealings and the sudden reappearance of her younger son, Nick, Posy is reluctant to trust in Freddie’s renewed affection. And unbeknownst to Posy, Freddie - and Admiral House - have a devastating secret to reveal....

Never stop writing

An absolute must to listen to though not whilst driving, so emotional in parts.
A truly beautiful storyline.
Thank you

Even after 17 hours didn’t want it to end!

Loved this audible version of The Butterfly Room. Really nice story with an unexpected twist that I didn’t see coming. Helped it’s narrated by Nicolette Mackenzie - love her voice (when I read she was narrating that helped me chose). Will need to check out more of Lucinda Riley books now!

Very different to Lucinda's other stories.

A pleasant enough story, but not what I expected. It took a while to properly get going and had a few twists. Certainly made me smile at how many glasses of wine they drank in this story, like it was the go to method for solving all problems.

Fabulous book

This is my third audible book by Lucinda Riley, and as with the other two I didn’t want them to end? I get so attached to the characters and the location because Lucinda is an incredible story teller who brings them to life.

I’m starting on book two of the seven sisters series and can’t wait

Perfect distraction

Absolutely loved this story. I was captivated throughout and it was a great distraction from all the ups and downs in my life. Lucinda Riley’s novels are very entertaining and the narrator was perfect.

Resilience is shown by so many characters (and none by other characters!)

A story that slowly engaged me. At first it was confusing (for me) with the constant jumping backwards and forwards in time. However, once I was "hooked" I loved it. Thought provoking and reflects that ALL families have issues and a black sheep or two.

Lovely touching story

The characters were all believable and likeable and the story was narrated beautifully. I especially liked Posy’s character.
