Summary

Set against a memorable backdrop of Lucinda Riley's trademark evocative locations, The Italian Girl unfolds into a poignant and unforgettable tale of love, betrayal and self-discovery.

Nothing sings as sweetly as love, or burns quite like betrayal.

Rosanna Menici is just a girl when she meets Roberto Rossini, the man who will change her life. In the years to come, their destinies are bound together by their extraordinary talents as opera singers and by their enduring but obsessive love for each other - a love that will ultimately affect the lives of all those closest to them. For, as Rosanna slowly discovers, their union is haunted by irreversible events from the past....

Rosanna's journey takes her from humble beginnings in the back streets of Naples to the glittering stages of the world's most prestigious opera houses.

First published as Aria under the name Lucinda Edmonds, now extensively rewritten.

Moving story

It is not often you read a story that makes you think about what it is to love so greatly you lose yourself . Simply not true right! But sometimes when you look at what that looks like after stepping back you don’t grow weaker from it but stronger. I love how Lucinda layers her story so your getting multiple stories that all merge together with a beautiful ending. Will miss this beautiful lady and her extraordinary writing. Rest In Peace Lucinda Riley

Outstanding!!!

This is one of the best books I’ve listen to in a long time! It was well written and the narration was well done. I always considered Ms Riley’s “The Midnight Rose “ as her best book; this one was just as good.

Wonderful story and narration

This book has wonderful characters and a storyline that spans decades. I’m a huge fan of Lucinda Riley and it’s wonderful to have her older work freshened up and audio recorded. The narration is superb and brings the wonderful characters to life!

Drawn out, lacking that special something

The book began with promise, but eventually just became to drawn out and predictable. The author lacked that special something. Not very discriptive and main character tended to just annoy me.

Gorgeous and captivating story - cannot say enough!!

One of the best audiobooks I have ever listened to! This was a powerful, emotionally rich and gripping story of love, family, and music. I listened to Riley’s “Seven Sisters” series and loved it, as well, but this has been my favorite of all her books. Each character was so well-developed. If you like family sagas, travel, music, and love stories, do not miss this one!

Very boring

Very boring book with no substance. Obsession of a girl with a narcissist man. The performance was fine but story was absolutely boring
