Summary

The Sunday Times number one best seller: as addictive as a TV box set!

After a tough week, Tanya Kaitlin is looking forward to a relaxing night in, but as she steps out of her shower, she hears her phone ring. The video call request comes from her best friend, Karen Ward. Tanya takes the call, and the nightmare begins.

Karen is gagged and bound to a chair in her own living room. If Tanya disconnects from the call, if she looks away from the camera, he will come after her next, the deep, raspy, demonic voice at the other end of the line promises her.

As Detectives Robert Hunter and Carlos Garcia investigate the threats, they are thrown into a roller coaster of evil, chasing a predator who scouts the streets and social media networks for victims, taunting them with secret messages and feeding on their fear.

Happy for the return of Thomas Judd.

I had taken a break from the series after the last book as i felt the series was slowing down. I was on the lookout for a read and when this book was suggested i looked at the cover and noticed that Thomas Judd was narrating i was swayed into buying as I liked Carters earlier books.

What a return for me, this book is every bit as good as the earlier books in the series. The narrator on the last couple was good but Judd just brings these stories alive for me, he really brings Garcia to life and makes his such a likable character. Overall Judds voice paints the picture of Hunter for me.

Far as the book goes it was very exciting. Enjoyed this one so much. I usually listen to these books as work only tobut found myself listening through the car speakers on the way home. Story was paced well, nothing too predictable and found the storyline original too. Highly recommend.

Anticipating the upcoming new book. Cant wait.

Dear Chris Carter

Does an author ever read these reviews do you think? If so ears pinned back Mr. Carter, with 5 rusty nails! These books are really well written, and demonstrate a high degree of knowledge. However the sheer graphic descriptions of torture, 'rub your audiences noses in it' leaving nothing to the imagination.
It's vile and in my view so very gratuitous. Why not leave something to the imagination?
Would love to read more of your books Mr. Carter, but they leave me too nauseated 🤢

Hunter and Mr J

So in this book we have a psycho killing people by fiendish ways in front of loved ones and friends. Can Hunter and Garcia stop them?

Again we follow a tried and tested method by Mr Carter but hay I’m not complaining and I’m going to be most upset when I get to the end of his books on Audible.

In this book we have an interesting wee twist concerning one of the victims loved ones which would make an interesting book on its own.

Gore..tick....murder and mayhem...tick ...sex and romance ...no although I would quite like Hunter to have a love life only because I feel sorry for him! Recommended.... a resounding YES!
