Summary

When a sink hole opens up near the Australian outback town of Pintalba, it uncovers a pristine cave system. Sam joins an expedition to explore the subterranean passages as paramedic support, hoping to remain unneeded at base camp. But, when one of the cavers is injured, he must overcome paralyzing claustrophobia to dive pitch-black waters and squeeze through the bowels of the earth.

Soon he will find there are fates worse than being buried alive, for in the abandoned mines and caves beneath Pintalba, there are ravenous teeth in the dark.

As a savage predator targets the group with hideous ferocity, Sam and his friends must fight for their lives if they are ever to see the sun again.

unusual to find a fun creature horror

good and free and would have been even better if the narrator changed how he delivered each line but that might be accent related? overall great and ive paid more for less

Slow to the actual story

The story itself is alright and would make a decent film but for me it just took too long to get in to the main story of actually getting in to the cavern and I found it frustrating that the story was told from so many different perspectives. I enjoyed it for a free read from the plus catalogue but I'm glad I didn't buy it.

Cavern

Definitely worth a listen, a good story that flows well and well narrated. A simple but well written story, much better than a lot of writers who overreach.

this is a decent horror creature feature, just needed a bit more suspense and menace.

entertaining horror

I was looking for a scifi to listen and by accident started this story. Yepp,it entertained without freaking me out or giving me nightmares so it's thumbs up from me.

Smashing alien-creature feature

Albeit the kind of concept I've heard before, I like the Australian setting. Just shakes things up a bit and gives an immediate difference and No-nonsense approach to the characters. Narration was consistent, lively and not grating (kinda sounds like Be. Busta from YouTube)
Cracking listen if you're a fellow creature-feature fan!

Why not to explore caves

Great characters, good plot twists, no guarantee of whom might survive, landscape and back drops well described and brought to life, easy to imagine you being there and the terror at every turn, would highly recommend, kept me hooked till the finish...or is it?

Great horror

Reminded alot of The Thing and esteemed modern writer Greg Becks Alex Hunter series first book. Loved it.

Good read

This story was fun. Plenty gory..but not as suspensful as it could have been. A worthwhile creature feature though and entertaining.

Good B movie feel

Enjoyed this one. Pulpy and grindhousey in the ways I wanted it to be, with a few moments that really dialled up the terror.

Cool monster design, just enough mystery to make me stick around while the body count rose.
