About this listen
Of the eight affinities in Netherdei, Falken is the only follower of Shadow.
Hunted by demonic spirits and imperial forces, Falken must help liberate his fellow cultivators and prepare for all that is to come. His former home, the Ardent Lunar Sect, lies broken, the man he thought of as a father buried in the ruins.
To understand his powers and unlock the secrets of his fabled obsidian sword, Falken is forced to leave the safety of the oubliette. Through tragedies and new horrors, Falken and his friends must venture across the seas to the kingdom of Diyu, the land of ancient cultivators.
But the shadows hide all manner of beasts, and a trickster demon of the Hidden Realm watches Falken’s progress with a covetous eye.
For even the gods don’t want Falken to obtain the Darkest Core....
About the series: The Darkest Core is the sequel to number one international Amazon and Audible best seller The Shadow Sect. The series is a tale of magicking, cultivation, and fantasy, perfect for fans of The Witcher and Avatar: The Last Airbender, and is inspired by the worlds of xianxia and wuxia.

A time for revenge
The time for shadow to rise has come and for us to discover the mysteries of the ancient sect. For all of this story telling I found the main character well fleshed out since the 1st audio and even better the relationships he had between his group was very enticing and engaging. But in an unusual step the best character by far is warman trip his tales and his manner were a breath of fresh air and I would come back for more in this series just to get more of his comebacks
The narrator Jameson is still pretty new to me but I feel works better in this audio than the first mayhap because of his skills with our main characters but deserving of a 5 star.
Im looking forward to more from Hacksaw and what else he has in store for us.
I requested this audio and have decided to leave my thoughts for everyone.

Amazing
What a second book in the Netherdei series. Peter Hackshaw has done it again! This is no ordinary Cultivation book, the writer paints a picture so vivid and real you feel like you are part of the story. I love the magicking system and progression and how the Necropolitans magic system is explained. Joe Jamesons performance is fantastic again and compliments the amazing writing so well. I want to be best friends with Warmund Tripp, my favourite character who at so many points in the book made me laugh out loud!! Great audio book and book!! What happens next!!!! Can’t wait for book No3!!!!

Fantastic storytelling
The story arc in these novels are fast moving and enthralling. Peter Hackshaw writes characters with enormous heart and also flaws. Even set in a fantasy genre they are relatable and immediately you care about them. Even the wisp. Eagerly awaiting the next book… write faster please!
