About this listen

An epic journey of deceit, betrayal, magic, and a treasonous love sets sail as Meath, a young apprentice to the formidable wizard, Ursa, escapes certain death while a freshly united kingdom is held captive by a false prince.

In hope of relaying the truth of the usurper, who now threatens the throne, Meath embarks on a dangerous journey with the true heiress, Nicolette, in an attempt to reach her uncle before they, too, are entangled in the lie that has wound itself deep into the lands.

Amidst the soldiers dispatched to return the princess and capture Meath and his friends, they must avoid the barbarian clans who have begun a savage war on the Kingdom of Draco, evading what seems like fate has become a perilous game they may not be able to win....

Incredible!!!

Absolutely incredible! I've never heard a book like this before. It really is like "watching" a movie with all the scenery noises (I don't know if there is a specific term for it or not) but I was aways wondering what was going to happen next and can't wait for the next book. Such good writting and an incredible performance! I wish I could give the narration more than 5 Stars!

An excellent book.

I was given a free copy of this book and I'm leaving an honest and voluntary review.
This is an epic adventure, incredibly thrilling and such a fascinating world. the characters themselves are perfectly suited to this book. I was completely hooked from the outset, the addition of sound effects made the whole experience more enjoyable.
The narration is flawless, Nigel Peevers delivers a masterful preference.
I would most definitely recommend this book to anyone.
I will be looking for more book by this author.

not a star...but not unforgettable

well I kinda likes the story, but some of the voices gets me total off, like "Yoda" and the "retarded" babarian girl. The femals voices are the worst. And the same some of the male voices are really well done.
listen if you don't what else to listen to...

Thrilling & Gripping

Another fabulous performance from Nigel Peever. A wonderfully gripping novel that is brought to life by Nigel’s flawless narration. With the sound effects and music the extra dimensions added to the story had me taking a longer route to my destination as I listened on my travels.

I wasn’t expecting the cliff hanger ending. I hope book 2 will be along very soon.

Great start, this series has potential

I hate the princess.

I love the system of magic. I love the mystery, the intrigue. I love how long this story took. yet still needing more time to fulfill the by series.
As I said, this book has so much potential but it is also lacking depth with the sub main characters.

Again I hate the princess. I'm not sure if it's intentional but she just comes off as a whiny love stricken buffoon. Who does not think of any consequences and who is definitely not ready for the role she was given. My hope is that the next book allows her to grow and become better become worthy of the man she wants.

Compelling intriguing fight for life brilliant

This was a brilliant book a fight for survival amidst magic betrayal lost love a very clever mix of wizardry, myth and quite modern thoughts, it is really well narrated, setting the scene and giving insight into the scenery. Meath is on a dangerous journey to keep Nicolette safe and a nice love story to go with the fast paced storyline, looking forward to the next book

great story, hate the princess.

I thought at first the sound effects during the story would irritate me but as the book progressed it really brought the story to life. Will definitely listen again to try to get any parts of the story i may have missed. hope book 2 comes out soon

Fast paced adventure

What a great audiobook. I couldn’t believe I had reached the end and can’t wait to listen to the next volume. Fast paced and action packed you quickly grow to love (and hate) the characters. Much is left to find out when you reach the end
