Summary

From the stranger in the car, to the madman at her door....

Perfect for fans of Liane Moriarty, Shari Lapena and Lisa Jewell.

The day my path crossed with Simon Fox I thought I’d already lost everything, but then he almost ran me off the road with his flash car and belittling jibes.

The men in my life had undermined me for too long.

Enough was enough.

Fuelled by alcohol and the desire to get even, I decided a spot of petty vandalism would make me feel a whole lot better.

Wrong. Very wrong....

I hadn’t realised that Simon Fox was not a man to be messed with.

He showed me just how much I still had left to lose.

Soon I was battling for my home, family and life.

This was a fantastic listen.

The twist and turns in this novel we’re intriguing. I never saw some of the rust and turns coming, this was well written and well read. Would wholly recommend this audiobook to anyone who likes a bit of a mystery drama.

Keeps you guessing until the end!

Gemma Rogers has done it again with another gritty and twisty dark atmospheric story.
She shows how a spare of the moment decision can change the course of your life..and not in a good way!
Just as you think you know where the story is going there’s another red herring to throw you off.
I think her books would make an excellent television series! Take note BBC Drama and Netflix!!
If you’re looking for a book you can’t put down, you’ve chosen the right one!

Enjoyed this book

Good storyline. Narrator did a convincing performance because I really disliked the voice of the main character at first. Good listen.

Thoroughly enjoyable listen!

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I’ve listened to a couple of Gemma Rogers’ books and love the convoluted paths this story took. I admit at first my thoughts were kind of ‘this is going to be predictable’, and in some ways it was. But the way Gemma wrote it did have me second guessing myself. I think i related to it too, having experienced some of what was written myself I was rooting for the main character to develop a back bone….and she did! There were times when I thought the main character was really whiny and lacking but as the story developed I couldn’t be more wrong. I would recommend this book.

Oh my ears!!!

Nearly quit this about half hour in because narrator really irritated me (sorry) ploughed on as started to get into the story but nearly caved again because of narration. I did work out most of the twists but glad I powered through to the end. Now to get that voice out if my head…

Good Book but Narration Not So Good!

I have listened to the Gemma Rogers books that are included on Audible and really enjoyed them. As such I decided to purchase The Feud knowing it would be a good listen.
I can’t lie, the narration was poles apart from the others I had listened to - way more animated and the emphasis on certain words within a sentence weren’t used grammatically. It irritated me from the start. The fact that I had purchased the book and I knew Gemma to be an author I enjoyed was enough to make me persevere.
The voice the Narrator used for Tim was cringe worthy and thankfully Peter only had a brief part, so I didn’t have to listen to the God awful attempt at a Birmingham accent for an inordinate amount of time - small mercy!
If you can get past the bad narration, you’ll enjoy the storyline.

Narration didn't live up to the excellent story

Let me start by saying, it's really not lost on me how difficult narration must be. So bravo anyone that steps up to the plate for the wonderful service you each provide. Imogen often made me laugh out aloud, especially when the conversations were between her and her close friend. The chemistry felt real, funny, raw and close. She is possibly drawing on some personal experience. That said, it felt like the intonation was off more than on and it affected the rhythm of the story too often for me. As I say, I know it's a really difficult skill but...

The twists were a little close to 'beyond belief', yes. But actually the story was super. When you feel like you want to track down the likes of Simon and Mike and sort them out and shake Jonathon by the scruff, you know the author (Gemma) has done her thing. It's her gift - getting you hooked, and more than once. She does that brilliantly in The Secret too if you get a chance to read/listen.

Top Tip Listen at 1.2 x speed

The only way to listen to it and narration not drive you mad, knocks 2 hours off the book length!!
