Summary
Flynn was only a teenager when her parents were killed in a terrible accident. Too young to lose her parents, too young to take on responsibility for her younger sister Kaiya, too young to protect Kaiya from the harshness of their new lives in the following years. Excellent story - heartbreaking in places.
Believable characters and moving storyline. Narration good too. Recommend especially as in the plus catalogue. Will look out more from author

Absorbing story.
Loved the story, the characters really pulled at the heartstrings. Definitely worth a listen. Love all Dervla’s books, have listened to them all, can’t wait for the next one.

Really kept my interest
The narrator was excellent as always
The story line was quite moving and interesting
And the ending was what I hoped for,not wanting to spoil it for other readers

Dervla McTiernan writes great stories!
Another belter of a book from Dervla McTiernan. I've previously enjoyed both here series and standalones and this one is great too. Her characters are always expertly created and the stories build and develop so well. I didn't want this one to end.

Dervla McTiernan’s Books

Enthralling, dramatic, suspenseful, brilliant.

Another great book
There is something about Dervlas writing that just makes it that more gripping than many others. Another great story line and well narrated book. I look forward to the next release

Great story, great narration.
I loved this book. Its characters were very believable and interesting. the two stoylines, running side by side, kept me interested and wanted to know more. The whole story was very well put together and totally believable. The two narrators were excellent, and it was through searching for other books that Harriot Gordon - Anderson had narrated, that I came across this one. I would highly recommend this book.

Compelling and Harrowing
Gripping and well written. I quickly became invested in the characters and couldn't stop listening. Different to Dervla’s Cormac Reilly series. The characters here do have tough life stories, so I would say not to be listened to on a down day!

A good listen!
I enjoyed the story and it kept me engaged throughout. My only criticism is that it could have been longer and gone into the characters in a little more depth in the second half. Very nearly five star!
