Summary

Some lines should never be crossed.

Police corruption, an investigation that ends in tragedy and the mystery of a little girl’s silence – three unconnected events that will prove to be linked by one small town.

While detective Cormac Reilly faces enemies at work and trouble in his personal life, garda Peter Fisher is relocated out of Galway with the threat of prosecution hanging over his head. But even that is not as terrible as having to work for his overbearing father, the local copper for the pretty seaside town of Roundstone.

For some, like Anna and her young daughter, Tilly, Roundstone is a refuge from trauma. But even this village on the edge of the sea isn’t far enough to escape from the shadows of evil men.

JUST EXCELLENT

I've listened to all the books produced by Dervla...and they just get better and better...if that's possible with excellent storylines. The greatest choice of narrator..or really performer too...how do you make each character sound so believable? It is as though a full cast are present! Aoife...you are the best.

Great and worth the listen

I enjoyed much of it and it kept me gripped but I think a few to many ‘He Said’ ‘She Said’ which shows a lack of confidence in the performer which wasn’t needed

Look forward to hearing the next one

Brilliant book

A very good listen with many twists and turns, Cormac is in trouble again but how can he get out of it and get to the truth?
Is Peter facing an early to his police career? All be answered a book you want to see what happens but also you don't want it to end. The narration is fantastic Aoife is brilliant and the reason I found this book. I hope there will be more to come in the series but would be nice for Cormac to not get suspended and solve cases without his bosses coming down on him.

Brilliant Read

I enjoyed this book so much I wanted it to last forever. Unfortunately it was so great I couldn’t stop listening. It had everything I require in a book brilliant story together with a fantastic narrator.

Fanbloodytastic

Have listened to all 3 books over the last few days! Loved every one of them.

Aoifa McMahon is a fab narrator and enhances the enjoyment of the books.

Storyline has been enjoyable in each book with little twists and turns throughout. I’ve disliked some of the characters and loved others.

Did not listen to the ‘spoiler’ at the end - thanks for the heads up!

Number 4 now please

Enjoyable but...

I’ve enjoyed this series very much but this one seemed odd. One of my favourite narrators, excellent as ever. But the story seemed like a non story. I don’t know how to describe it (clearly not an author!). It was so disjointed and full of such unbelievable coincidences, it was somewhat pointless. It could have been much shorter and added on to the end of the last book as throughout it was just tying up loose ends (although, still leaving some dangling!). For me, it was cliched and not of the calibre of the first two books.

predictable

Predictable storyline but a good easy listen by my favoured narrator.
Pity other books by author are on 2/3 hours long so not worth the money

excellent listen

I love the narrators voice! I think she could read anything and engage the listener. Story excellent, waiting for next book from Dervla.

Great read

This is the third book in the Cormac Reilly series and I have enjoyed all three, the narration by Aoife McMahon is first class and the storyline from the first book to the last is very good.I would advise reading the the first two books before this to get to know the characters. There are two more shorter stories to follow but if your like me and like a good ten hour listen I would wait to see if there any any offers before I read them.
