Summary

Ahren can hardly believe his luck. His apprenticeship finally comes to an end, and Khara's interest in him is growing by the minute. He and his companions leave the Southern Jungles and sail westward, this time in search of two Paladins, who are apparently living a peaceful existence on one of the Isles of the Cutlass Sea.

Yet their quest proves full of difficulties, for a war among the pirates has transformed the Cutlass Sea into a bubbling cauldron, hiding its own tragic drama. While Ahren and his friends do their utmost to win over the two Paladins in their attempts to defeat HIM, WHO FORCES, the High Fang, SVEN, is nearing the consummation of his fiendish plan.

so many mistakes in the editing

the narration is good it's just been badly edited, in chapter 13b the strutters and stumbles make the story almost incomprehensible

Another good installment

Some weird narrative choices

I felt the paladins did a number of things that were way out of character from the way they had behaved up until this book.

There are also a number of narration issues in this edition not present in previous books.

Enjoyable but lower quality than the first few books.

Great book, terrible production

Dear audible,

Although I know that mistakes do happen, I have to say that the edit for your production of “The Isles of the Cutlass Sea” is absolutely awful. It’s almost as if you forgot to finish the edits

Gildart Jackson is brilliant but do we really need to hear every mistake or mis-pronounced word that you record during his reading at the studio?

It took me a little while to realise what I was hearing. I’ve heard stuff like this from time to time before…but this one is completely ridiculous. If you want me to pay for books through your services, couldn’t you apply at least the minimum of quality control?

Very very disappointed.

Not as good as previous books in this series

Still enjoyable, but not as engaging as earlier book. Hopefully the next book in this series will return to being better.

Really entertaining story but

Shame about the technical problems in chapter 12 and especially chapter 13 (so far).

Hopefully this is an early draft and a final, fixed version, will be available soon.

Pretty good

Good overall, well worth a listen. Continues the story and progresses nicely.
Not everything could go quite so easily for everyone though….

Good continuation of the story. Well narrated. Poor production and editing.

The performance and the story continue to be of good quality. An enjoyable young adult fantasy series that is also well written enough to be a fun distraction to older, more discerning readers (or listeners).

Unfortunately, this recording needs re editing as from chapter 12 onwards we get duplicated words and phrases where the narrator has done a couple of takes and they have not been edited out.

Very frustrating as it is distracting and it breaks the flow of the story.

Overall it is good, but this editing issue really does need to be sorted.
