Major changes and revelations

This latest instalment in the series is unsuitable for those just starting the series, but for those already engaged with it, you get an entertaining mix of new developments for the main characters, major changes to the main plotlines, some plots being concluded and a major revelation concerning the main foe of the hero and his friends as this series starts heading towards it's eventual conclusion.

Like the previous books in the series, we again get another increase in scope with the dungeon core becoming involved with even more of the wider population as they face an invasion larger that needs a larger force to repel it than just the guardian guild. Along with dealing with this existential threat from the invading monsters, this book also deals with threat coming from the Cordpower company and it is quite interesting to see the way that threat is dealt with so readily without it becoming the main focus since it shows how some of the characters have grown well beyond their initial need for vengeance on that company since they have the much bigger threat to face instead.

The narration is once again a strong point, a good range of distinctive tones ensure the expanding cast remains easily distinguishable from each other.

Overall, a good balance of closing off some plotlines and escalation of others as the series heads towards a conclusion, but I would prefer a bit more brevity when it comes to the stats sections since they are readily available in the included pdf if you really want to dig into them.

Another great addition to this series!

Although it's getting a bit too stat heavy for me, I still realy enjoy this series. I'm glad the possibility has been provided to skip the star tables without missing out on the story. There are just some days when I can't bring it up to focus on the stats and I just want to have a good time. And good times I've had with this one! The story keeps drawing me in. I might be a young grasshopper when it comes to audio books. But this is one of the best series I've come across so far! Keep up the good work! Great writer and a great narrator!

A good book but....

I like the plot of the series and love the character developments i even like the stats but i just can't get over the cursing. like there are Full sentences of cursing. this is a good book but for some people some like me that amount of cursing is a no-no. esp for an audiobook. but i would still read it and recommend it because it is a great book with a great story. however, sorry although it was a great performance and the plot is good, i would probably stick to Reading this than Listening to it. will probably enjoy it that way. so if you are not averse to cursing like a pirate/trucker and you like Dungeon Litrpgs that involves stats(i love those) you would love this book series. Just try it!

part 4, big battles

While there are some minor niggles, the book is still well written with some good twists. Yes, milton should be smarter and better tactically than he seems, but it works for the story I guess..

Narration is good, but I wish the narrator would speed up his cadence for stat heavy areas.

very enjoyable series

Loving this series so far. The storyline is clever, and well written, with good characterisation, and some interesting twists. The narration is well paced, and the characters are nice and distinct. Definitely recommended, though I would strongly suggest you read the series in order.

It is just bad.

LitRPG books are a strange thing. I can abide by bad writing. I can stand padding with stats so bad the book reads like a quarterly financial report. I can even live with glaring plot holes. But one thing I can't stand is a willfully stupid protagonist. And the 'Station Core' series it an epitome of that, because the very moment Milton becomes the station core, he loses all knowledge of human military history. Or maybe the aliens who intended to erase his memories have inadvertently amputated his common sense.
