Summary

DeathWizards have been the scourge of Talohna for over 5000 years; they are executed at birth or hunted to the death. There are no exceptions.

Pulled by magic and blood sacrifice into a world he can't possibly begin to understand, Kael Symes soon finds himself the focus of a Talohna-wide manhunt.

Desperate and trying to stay ahead of ArchWizard Giddeon Zirakus's execution squad, Kael soon discovers that Talohna's ArchWizard may be the least of his worries. An ancient witch coven is also on the hunt for Kael, and they'll stop at nothing to find their messiah first.

Trapped far below the earth inside the long-lost Dwarven prison of Arkum Zul, Kael has few allies he can trust. After months of torture and suffering, he is quickly running out of time to recover what was stolen from him: The magic of the DeathWizard.

It's his only hope for escape.

loved the story, some characters are stupid as helll but I can look past that. I'm really happy to listen to all the other books in the story.

An enjoyable experience

The story felt much like a tale I'd have tried to conceive in my teenage years, this is exactly what made it enjoyable however. If you enjoy black leather cloaks, vampires, demons and witches then you'll enjoy this book

Great Potential let down a little

Overall I did enjoy this book. Simon Vance as always provides excellent narration. However there are some weaknesses in the story, which as things develop throughout the series become even more frustrating, which can be annoying and did at times spoil the read. Some of the characters can also be rather two dimensional which also is an irritation. But stick with it, overall not a bad start to the series and it does improve. I would recommend it and there are some refreshing aspects to the genre, which would have been a little better if the characters were more developed and not so stereotyped.

Very good!

I am new to this genre but have found some very good books and this is up there with the best so far. Ignore any poor reviews, this book is exiting, touching in places, visceral and beautifully presented. Enjoy.

Fast, Fun, Gritty and Intriguing! I enjoyed this book very much, lots of strong characters and very interesting plots and sub plots. I anticipate the next installment will be a fantastical, fantasy feast! Simon Vance as always is perfect.

MAGICAL!!!

Would you listen to The Legacy again? Why?

Gladly! I admit that the shift in worlds near the beginning of the story threw me off to the point I thought it was something wrong with the download but bare with it and it you will not be disappointed.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Elise (not sure if this is the correct spelling) is by far my favourite character. Her secrets that keep creeping out make you want to want her to spill them all at once.

What about Simon Vance’s performance did you like?

Amazing narrator, captured each character perfectly. I will be hunting for more books narrated by him.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely!!! I struggled to stop listening

Any additional comments?

JD Franx is an author I have not heard before but I beg to god that he brings more books to audible. If you like stories by the following: Brandon Sanderson, Trudi Canavan, James Maxwell, Stephen Aryan and Patrick Rothfuss then you will LOVE this series. I am about to start listening to the next book and cant wait to dive back into the magical adventure that awaits.

Do not make the mistake of not giving this series a chance, you will regret not adding this masterpiece to your collection.

“Hey that’s preety gooood”

I started to listen to this audiobook 3 times. As soon as I heard the opening I thought “another Merlin/Gandalf/Dumbldore Guy.. ” and stoped. As it turns out I was very wrong about that one lol. It’s starts pretty cliche but in all honesty after the first chapter I got intrigued. There were a few moments in the story which felt a little...meh.. but other then those few points and the too long torture scene...scenes I enjoyed the story.
The ending made me chuckle with an evil grin.
Oh and the performance is simply legendary.
All in all have a listen
