Summary

A brilliant psychological thriller from bestseller Valerie Keogh.

Since that fateful night I have always kept myself to myself. Reserved. Private. Alone.

Some people think I am too quiet. That life is passing me by. But I know there is safety in my own company. That no one can hurt me if I don’t let them get too close.

Until the day I meet him. A handsome, charming stranger. A chance for me to take a risk…finally?

Or a man who threatens everything I’ve worked so hard for?

You’ll be sorry...

And that’s when my whole life begins to fall apart….

Perfect for fans of Sue Watson, Shalini Boland and K.L. Slater.

Loved it...I couldn't stop listening. Twists and turns to the end. ...Beautifully read by Rose Robinson.

So Good

I really enjoyed this, it kept me completely gripped and was quite creepy at first. I shall look out for more by this author, brilliant.

Predictable

A bit predictable. I guessed the general gist of the story well before the end. No real substance to it. Not one of her best, just OK.

terrible

loved all 8 of the books by the author. All fab. this really is terrible. The protagonist is so frustrating, really weak. wanted to give her a shake. the premise is so strange, the reasons for the villain's reasons for revenge are completely ridiculous, how the police deal with it is so unbelievable. the dialogue is cringe. "she felt like she could have a heart attack, but she didn't have time". finished but really struggled.

Reasonable story but too drawn out for me

A reasonable story in itself with good narration however there was too much emphasis on little side subjects and descriptions (not all accurate) of everyday items.
