Summary

Charles Waters has 30 days to live. Those days pass in a blur and he dies a quiet, unnoticed death.

He opens his eyes back in the doctor's office as he is told, "I'm sorry to say, but you have 30 days to live."

Thus begins The Many Short Lives of Charles Waters, who has to live the same 30 days over and over while he finds out what it is to be alive.

The Many Short Lives of Charles Waters is the 12th book in the Middle Falls Time Travel series. Like all Middle Falls books, it is a standalone novel. These can be listened to in any order.

Includes a special bonus note read by the author.

Middle falls series

For the moment, this is the last book in the series. I have enjoyed them all and they certainly make you think about your life. How you would change it if you had the chance. Thank you Shawn, for the many hours of listening. I look forward to you adding to the series.

So so..amazingly good!

I absolutely loved each and every one of these books. So thought provoking and emotional, each story had me in tears and at times had me giggling out loud. I was so engrossed in each story it felt like I was actually there, and I really did feel for the characters. I am an avid book reader now a book listener, and have read so many books in my time..none have ever left me feeling the way I do now.
I became a widow six months ago, my husband passed at just 49 years old. I have never felt pain like this. Listening to these books has helped me with my grieving. Although I wept each time a character died these stories gave me food for thought, and with that hope. Hope that indeed there is a higher realm and we all do go on.

These fantastic stories are truly remarkable. Written and narrated perfectly. Each narrator is absolutely marvellous, they bring the stories to life.
Thank you Shawn Inmon for writing these books, I will treasure them. I will also look out for your other work as you are now one of my favourite authors!

My Favourite

I am completely hooked on this series and thank Audible for giving me the chance to listen to it for free. This book is by far my favourite of the Middle Falls stories. Just wish I had an Arty's Burger to go with it.

Heartwarming but not cloying

Well read. Absorbing. Wonderful characters. Brilliant conceit. Well worth your time. Almost listened in one go - that good. Heartwarming while not inducing cardiac infarction.

I’ve read all of the series so far and found this to be the best! I have loved every minute. Be warned…. It wouldn’t be the same if I hadn’t read the previous ones. X

Shawn Inmon Thank you so much for the 12 books

Shawn Inmon Thank you so much for the 12 books in the Middle Falls series. I finished the last one just 30" ago and am sitting here on a high. My 1st thoughts was with all the stuff going now that The Many Short Lives of Charles Waters was the perfect medicine for me. Can you tell I smiling? I must say after hearing you talk about the books it took me back to when I read them. I came to the conclusion that the very best one was the 1st and last ones I read. All the ones in between were a so close 2nd.

Great series

I absolutely LOVE this series and always look forward to the next book. Definitely think this series needs to be a Netflix series....would be a huge hit.

The best one yet.....

I really connected with this story over all the rest....the main character seems to be on the Autism spectrum, although the author has left that up to the reader to decide. My daughter has Autism, so I have decided he's definitely Asperger's and that made his character especially likable to me.

The narrator did a great job on the voices, especially MoonDoggy....that littered the story with some great comic relief.

As always, I get lost in these books, they are great food for thought, and it really spurs me to think about how I would handle the situations that the characters have been thrust into.

I'm sad this is the last book of the series, at least for now, but at the same time I am equally excited to get started on the Alex Hawk Time Travel series....Thank you Shawn!

Great addition to the series

As always a fun listen. Even better with Jonathan Davis reading. Felt a little like we were on the planet Anyar ( Olan Thorsen, Destiny's Crucible series)

Flawless

I purchased this book as a daily deal for less than three dollars and it’s easily in my top ten books of all time. I fell in love with Charles Waters and Moon Dog. I fell in love with each of Charles’ lives and discoveries. But I am most impressed with the voice acting of Jonathan Davis. He made each of the characters come alive with the magic of their own unique voice. As far as I’m concerned this book is flawless. What a wonderful surprise! Definitely deserves to be read by everyone on the planet, and beyond.

Boring story

A bit boring! Very different from the others. I didn’t expect too much depth having read every other book in the series but this one just lacked the excitement of what would happen next. I get it that the main character is a boring person that needed to change but it just was dry and boring. I love the other books though:

Series...

Well I started the 1st book out thinking I was not going to like it and would never listen to the entire series. But I was very surprised... and saddened at the end. I really like that events like John Lennon and such were factual.
I only have one well maybe more questions...if Ronnie got to start over again why oh why would she go back to the man that did that to her the first time. And when Charles and Mark were at the airport and he got arrested why didn't he just walk in the street or jump off a building so Mark didn't have to stay in jail.
Either way I still LOVED the entire series and will anxiously wait for more books that you promised...in 2020.
