Summary
London Society takes their problems to Sherlock Holmes. Everyone else goes to Arrowood.
1896: Sherlock Holmes has once again hit the headlines, solving mysteries for the cream of London society. But among the workhouses and pudding shops of the city, private detective William Arrowood is presented with far grittier, more violent and considerably less well-paid cases.

Really enjoyed this
Really enjoyed this! Despite being a delicate subject, I thought it was written and narrated superbly!
It is worth a credit JUST for the scene with the horse in the stable!! I laughed so hard and loudly at 2am, I woke my husband up!! Really tickled me pink and was worth the credit for that scene alone!!! So the rest of the story was a bonus! Lol
Off to read book three! :-)

I love these Arrowood books. this was even better than the first.
excellent crime stories, great portrayal of the characters, their relationships and the harshness of survival back then

O Dear
After the first Arrowood book I was really looking forward to the follow up.
Unfortunately I was very disappointed, the characters are great and the narration by Malk Williams is yet again superb. However this is one of the most boring books I have heard in as long time.
I really struggled to finish it.

Pretty Decent.
It's a lot better than most of the dross in this genre and the writer is familiar with the concept of humour, which is a nice change, too.
The narrator isn't up to much and a decent one would have lifted it considerably. He's not awful, but he makes so many fairly basic pronunciation errors than even non-pedants will become irritated after the first hour. There are far worse narrators, but it's still a bit of a shame.
