About this listen
In this anthology, David Gray-Hammond has reworked and added to essays from his popular Emergent Divergence blog. The theme of the essays is that of neuronormativity in society, and the effect it is having on Autistic and otherwise neurodivergent people. In this anthology, he challenges the idea of what normal is by calling out the status quo for the violence it inflicts on a marginalised neurodivergent community.

I am not your educator, but listen to this book
Fantastic! Direct and completely on point if you want to understand what it's like to be neurodivergent and have your lived experience minimalised and for the medical professionals gaslighting your symptoms all your life, to be regularly told you're weird, strange or too whatever by friends then listen to this book.

Music to my autistic soul
As a neurodivergent human this book expressed so many of the thoughts and feelings I have going on in my brain. I often find it hard being a talked over and unheard nd woman. It made me see that I’m not alone and reminded me that everyone is at different stages of their understanding of nd existence. A powerful bridge over the divide between the social and medical modal mindsets. Also the voice was very calming to my autistic ears. I’ve had to turn off many audio books because of this issue
Thank you

Great reading of a thought-provoking book
David Gray-Hammond thinks deeply about topics of great significance, and explains his thoughts clearly and compellingly. The reader here is also notably excellent.
