Summary

"A thrilling, coming-of-age journey that will make you yearn to go on your own adventures.” (Runner's World)

Anna was never anything like those "real" runners on telly - all spindly limbs, tiny shorts, and split times - but when she read about New Zealand’s 3,000-kilometer-long Te Araroa Trail, she began to wonder...perhaps being a "real" runner was overrated. Maybe she could just run it anyway?

Travelling alone through New Zealand’s backcountry for 148 days, she scrambled through forests, along ridgelines, over mountain passes, along beaches, and across swollen rivers. Running up to 52 kilometers in a day, she slept wild most nights and was taken into the homes and hearts of the Kiwi people in between.

The Pants of Perspective is a witty, colorful, and at times painfully raw account of a journey to the edge of what a woman believes herself to be capable of. It is a coming-of-age story that will lead you on a roller-coaster ride through fear, vulnerability, courage, and failure.

For anyone who has ever dreamt of taking on a great challenge but felt too afraid to begin - this story is for you.

Too fantabulous for words!

This is ace!! Great adventure, lovely writing and the narration is spot on. Oodles of enthusiasm and positivity to rekindle your love for life and humans. I laughed out loud frequently and will listen to this book again next time I need a reality check and a giggle.

Really enjoyable to listen to. Really enjoyed anna’s Narration style. Can’t wait for the audiobook version of 50 shades of the USA to come out so I can listen to that in the car

Inspiring tale of adventure

This book should come with a warning that it will make your feet itchy for adventure! A wonderful insight into a truly inspiring adventure it’s made even better by the fact Anna narrates it herself so you really feel like you are right there with her through the highs and lows. Highly recommended!

If you don’t love this book, you don’t yet fully understand what it means to be human...

I laughed (repeatedly), I cried (occasionally), I loved every single moment of Anna’s incredibly inspirational story! It’s a book of dreams achieved, of hardships lived, of friendships forged and of love - love of life, people, and of course running. A story that will keep me smiling for a very long time.
