A good but basic introduction - could be expanded on

For me as a newbie it’s a good basic foundation. I feel like it many areas could have been expanded on. It’s a good book though and I’ve made some notes with teachings that I would never have thought of on my own, which I’m sure will prove useful in the future as I grow my business to make it more attractive and ways to increase the valuation easily.

A huge help to my post-founder career

I'm a SaaS co founder CEO, beginning to think about my next career steps. Adam Coffey's book is both practical and inspiring to read if you're a founder with tons of relevant experience, but not enough cash in bank (or enough hobbies ;) to retire yet

Really good explanation of private equity

Great starting point for anyone needing a run down of how private equity will work and what to expect from a management point of view. Good case studies and examples and easy to understand and digest.

Useful introduction with practical advice

I found this book to be useful and interesting. It gave a good overview of how things work and what is important. It also gave examples from the author’s real life experiences.
It is quite a short book though, and would have been more useful if it had gone into a bit more depth.

Annoying

Incredibly frustrating how the recording and the chapter menu do not match up. The narrator is saying Chapter 1, while the menu says Chapter 4. Really basic stuff that is beyond annoying. A PDF of the contents page of the book would also be helpful.

The book itself is interesting and a useful overview.

Too generic for my liking

When I bought this, I was hoping for a deep dive into concepts, perhaps case studies, and an overall very informative, educational book.

I would see the truthful headline as more of a “Should you consider a career in private equity”
