About this listen
Brooke Bennett had the best news ever. After years of trying, she and David were going to have a baby. She knew her husband would be just as thrilled as she was and she prepared him a special celebratory supper, dressed up, and waited for him. However, he never came home. Later that night, she clutched a note she found on her pillow into a crumpled mess not believing what he’d written. David was leaving her and the megachurch where he’d been the senior pastor. They'd hit some snags in their marriage, but something like this had never crossed her mind. David had always been the love of her life. What would she do now? The church wouldn’t allow her to remain in the parsonage for long.
Three months later, David looked at the irate woman he’d left Brooke for and couldn’t believe his stupidity, couldn’t believe his sinfulness. He’d deserted his wife, his church, and his god for the selfish music director who had once stroked his ego. Valerie had already spent all his money from the bank accounts he’d cleaned out. Now what was he going to do?

Romantic and realistic!
Brooke and David were happy and wanted to start a family. At least that is what Brooke thought. When she comes home to celebrate her pregnancy, she is left with a note that he is leaving her for greener pastures. Left with nothing, she has to start over, finding a place to live, a job and take care of her baby. Now David is looking for a second chance, realizing his mistakes. Will Brooke take him back? And what will he do when he meets his son? This is an entertaining, yet realistic listen. It's a good look at real life and how the pasture isn't always greener on the other side of the fence. It shows how love and forgiveness and overcome the worst of times, but it's not guaranteed to always come out that way. I enjoyed their difficult journey to find their happiness.
Jared Walters is such a great narrator. He can pull me into these stories and make me feel like I am experiencing it all at the same time as the characters. Enjoyable voices and an easy sound, he made this a great listen.

Parts of this story were quite hard to hear. Others were a blessing to me. But, the overall message is, God uses sinful people because that's all He has and He uses sinful situations to point us back to Him!
I was especially fond of the soft spoken narrator! Listening to this mostly at night meant I could keep it at an enjoyable volume without it being too sharp or with too many loud quiet combinations!
Great job to you both! May God use this story to bless others and bring them closer to Him!
