Who killed the Mayor? It’s up to the Marlow Murder Club to find out . . .

Geoffrey Lushington, Mayor of Marlow, dies suddenly during a Town Council meeting. When traces of aconite – also known as the queen of poisons – are found in his coffee cup, the police realise he was murdered. But who did it? And why?

The police bring Judith, Suzie and Becks in to investigate as Civilian Advisors right from the start, so they have free rein to interview suspects and follow the evidence to their heart’s content, which is perfect because Judith has no time for rules and standard procedure. But this case has the Marlow Murder Club stumped. Who would want to kill the affable Mayor? How did they even get the poison into his coffee? And is anyone else in danger? The Marlow Murder Club are about to face their most difficult case yet . . .

Absolutely loved it

This is my favourite series and I absolutely loved it. Clever, entertaining with a side story or two in the mix. Perfect!

Breezy and easy to listen to…

A 2 dimensional modern Agatha Christie (Agatha just has that 3rd dimension) that licks along at pace…a few chapters surplus to requirement..but worth the payment and thoroughly enjoyable…the narrator is pretty on the money - a couple of occasional slips out of character at times - but lovely to listen to

Jolly good story!

Love a lighthearted murder! Good old fashioned “who done it” with lots of clues along the way. Great when you are in the mood for something less intense.

Cosy murder, great reader

This is the 3rd book in this series, but the 1st I listened to. It took me a few chapters to get rid of my own ideas of how the characters would sound and enjoy the reader's interpretation, but she really did read it well and made all the characters come to life. All 3 of the books in series are excellent and I would recommend to fans of Thursday Murder Club. I haven't read others by this author outwith this series but I understand he wrote Death in Paradise so specialises in the 'cosy murder' genre.

Another fab cosy crime

Oh its such a treat to unwind listening to this book. As with the previou two, it's funny with brilliantly observed characters and of course full of twists and turnns. Loved it!

THE BEST ONE YET!

I absolutely adore this series of books and this is the best one yet! I have listened to 100's of murder mysteries and can usually spot the murderer and the reason for murder a mile of. But this one (NO SPOILERS) was so intricate that it was impossible for me to guess, and the solution left me open-mouthed and cursing myself for not seeing it! Beautiful narration and very well written, I would recommend ALL of this author's audiobooks, in fact I will revisit some of his earlier ones. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

A murder that seems improbable

A very nice man is murdered….
There are many suspects and many secrets…
Will the murder club work it out?
This time the Police have given in and asked for their help…
A good cosy mystery… I enjoyed this lister…
