How many self-help books are written by authors whose biggest success is selling self-help books? Three Simple Steps is different. Despite stock market crashes, dot-com busts, and the specter of recession, the author started a virtual company from home, using a few thousand dollars of his savings. A few years later, without ever hiring an employee or leaving his home office, he sold it for more than $100 million. As the economy slipped into another free fall, he did this again with a company in a different field. He accomplished this through no particular genius.

Do you remember the last time you slept like you did when you were a small child and woke up in the morning completely refreshed and raring to go? Sleep is the secret to a healthy, fulfilling life. It is as important as food and drink. But too many people undervalue the importance of sleep and believe that they can “get by” on four or five hours.

Waking up at dawn's crack, feeling completely rested and energized? As we grow, it becomes harder to enjoy the benefits of deep sleep. While some people may associate with anxiety a lack of quality sleep, medical experts agree our growth hormones play a vital role in how well we sleep.

Summary
The only book to reveal the true science behind your every daily activity - exploding myths and providing authoritative take-away advice.
Explore the science behind your daily living habits and make your day healthier, happier and more productive.
Many of the activities we take for granted are in fact contrary to a healthy lifestyle. In this groundbreaking audiobook, long-held beliefs are exploded by new science: drinking eight glasses a day is too much, breakfast isn't the most important meal of the day, smartphones are not making us all depressed.
Bringing to bear the latest research in psychology, nutrition, biology and physics, Dr Stuart Farrimond unearths the facts behind the fads and provides take-away advice on every area of our lives - and all delivered in Dr Stu's trademark style: approachable, authoritative and above all entertaining.
The Science of Living debunks pseudo-science and delivers only the facts. One day - one body - more than 200 examples of science in action.
Dr Stuart Farrimond, medical doctor turned food scientist and best-selling DK author, is a science and medical writer, presenter and educator. He regularly appears on TV and radio and has written for publications including the Independent, the Daily Mail, and New Scientist. He is the founder and editor of online lifestyle-science magazine Guru, which is supported by the Wellcome Trust - the world's largest medical research charity.

Lots of interesting content
This audiobook contains a very large amount of interesting material, and its scope is broad.
My one minor criticism is that given the amount of material, it would probably be easier to read the book and take it in at your own pace, than the fast pace of the audiobook. Just too much to process for me through listening!

Worrying section on memory making
Although there is a lot of useful information in this book I was horrified by the lack of knowledge regarding how memories are made especially the impact of trauma on the ability of the brain to make coherent narratives.
