Summary

THE FINAL FREY & McGRAY MYSTERY

All will be revealed...

The Devil Has Come to Edinburgh...

An ill-fated grave-robbery unearths a corpse with a most disturbing symbol on it. When a patient in Edinburgh's lunatic asylum is murdered, the same sign is daubed in blood on the walls - the mark of the devil.

The prime suspect: inmate Amy McGray, notorious for killing her parents years before. Her brother, Detective 'Nine-Nails' McGray, must prove her innocence - with the help of an old friend . . .

Inspector Ian Frey insists he is retired. But when called upon, he reluctantly agrees to their final case.

As twists follow bombshells, leading to secrets that have been waiting in the shadows all along, all will be revealed . . .

This rollicking Victorian sensationalist melodrama is the epic conclusion to the marvellous Frey & McGray mysteries.

A deserving final

As much as I hope the dynamic duo comes back one day, I really enjoyed the resolution of the remaining mysteries. Fast paced and brilliantly narrated, time passed too quickly.

As a side note... there are a few words which get overused and I wish the author could have found a greater variety of expressions. Cackling, gasping, growling are just a few of these words :)

Thoroughly enjoyable

Having read the whole series all I can say is that I’m devastated that I’ve reached the end! Utterly engrossing, funny and wonderfully narrated. Highly recommend

I will miss Frey & McGray!

An excellent listen for all fans of this series and, for anyone new to Oscar de Muriel, I would strongly advise that the books should be read in the published order.

Waited patiently for this last installment and did not regret it. It is so brilliant. Mystery, Humour, Sadness, Excitement, Action and perfect storytelling. I came to the end not wanting it to finish but totally satisfied with how it did. Will listen again and again just like have with the previous books in the set. Brilliant ending to a great series

This book not only ties up the series and provides answers to a number of questions, but it does it very neatly. It maintains the excitement and brings in all the characters from the first book onwards. I’m going to miss Frey & McGray - excellent story telling from first to last

A brilliant end to an outstanding series.

A brilliant end to an outstanding series. Twists and turns at every point. It leaves me with the perfect amount of fulfilment but intrigue into the futures for the characters.
