Summary

While loyalist and traitor forces clash on a thousand battlefields across the galaxy, a very different kind of war is being fought in the shadows - a war of subtlety and subterfuge, unknown to many, but one that surely holds the key to victory for either side.

Rogal Dorn and his Legion prepare to defend the Solar System against the armies of Warmaster Horus, even as Malcador the Sigillite charges his many agents and spies with missions of the utmost secrecy. The future of the Imperium is being shaped by unseen hands....

Not the worst anthology

Not the worst not the best but better than others, few good longer short stories wasn’t a chore to get through

Grey Knights - Getting the band together

Was a bit put off at first when I read the first few reviews (never do, just plow through the Heresy) that the stories within were not connected to the overall or main story of the Heresy. While in a sense true, I found them good stories for fleshing out some events we've seen and hopefully will soon. Mr Keeble does a banging job and a lot of what made me like the book as a whole is thanks to him. A good listen!

Mini Stories

some great mini stories but prefer it when a whole novel. Puts lots of mini snippets towards the bigger picture

great middle material

some where mediocre, but some in the top of the series. I would still recomend this, because it gives some to the main plot

Good stories, tremendous narration

Great collection of short stories. As ever some are better than others but this isn’t one of the anthologies to skip and gives some great insights to what Malcador has been up to.

Keeble absolutely nails every story as you would expect.

Good but drawn out

I love Jonathan Keeble as a narrator don’t get me wrong but I do find that some of the anthology novels can get rather confusing.
Still a great listen however but a great listen in competition with some outstanding ones.

Another anthology.....

.....but one of the better ones. Stories range in quality but on the whole this is a four star read/listen. I enjoyed most of the stories. Each offered up a little treat or twist. Filling in some gaps and fleshing out the Heresy. Narrator as ever was fantastic, breathing life into the characters and really delivering on the narratives. Worth a listen even if your looking to crack on with the core Heresy story.

Really good at fleshing out some characters

Some of these short stories are fantastic at bringing the listener in and connecting us to the characters. Some really interesting ideas portrayed and the exposition the sigilite gives helps understand him and the emporer whilst sign posting events to come.
Not a must read for the overall listener but definitely a shame to miss out on.
