Summary

An almost impossible puzzle with supernatural trappings.

In a remote house in the middle of Dartmoor, six shadowy figures huddle around a small table for a seance. Tension rises as the spirits spell out a chilling message: ‘Captain Trevelyan… dead… murder.’

Is this black magic or simply a macabre joke? The only way to be certain is to locate Captain Trevelyan. Unfortunately, his home is six miles away and, with snow drifts blocking the roads, someone will have to make the journey on foot…

Great easy listen

I can't say there were any particular momentous moments but there also weren't any dull bits. The narration was spot on and the variety of voices splendid. All in all I would highly recommend this story. Would be a great addition to take on holiday.

Brilliant

An Agatha Christie crime novel without Poirot, Miss Marple, or Tommy and Tuppence, yet it still delivered the murderer plus motive at the end. Brilliant story from the Queen of Crime.

Classic Agatha Christie at her best

An intriguing tale, beautifully read. Amazing characterisation and a real sting in the tail. What more could you ask?

Classic Christie

I loved hearing a classic Agatha Christie and do prefer it to dramatisations. The perfect read over Christmas!

Expert narration by Hugh Fraser.

A light little tale of murder in the snowy west country is solved by a pretty young thing and an upcoming journalist.

If you’re feeling wintery, you can’t beat it. My favourite Christie. Hugh Fraser is always excellent.
