Summary

The siege of the Brazen City has been lifted and the Paladin Bergen remains free. Following their victory, Ahren and his companions continue on their travels, this time to the Southern Jungles in search of information regarding the whereabouts of the female Paladin, Sunju.

The journey is long and dangerous. Not only must they traverse the Nameless Desert and the untamed primeval forest, but hired assassins are hot on their heels along the Spear Path. And to top it all, the consequences of Jelninolan's extended absence from Evergreen could be fatal to her....

I loved it

I love everything I finished it in a week. I really like Ahrens development with his training and his relationship with Khara. Can wait to listen to the next book. 🏹🐺

Still Captivated

Sometimes it gets to a point where series begin to lose there "charm" after a while. However, this is definitely not the case here. I am absolutely loving the story and the consistent character growth. Onto book 5.

fun narration, love it

this saga still has momentum, tried the box set and found my new guilty pleasure. world building a whisper away from others in the genre to be interesting.
unusually for this genre there is a lot of focus on emotional fall out of battle, which you'll love or hate. there are moments when I question if this is maybe a translation, the idiom can be clunky, maybe poor editing at some points where the grammar is off. for a gripping yarn though I'm finding this hard to beat.

Good yarn

But the young paladin can be irritating at times with his constant stupid questions.
Also the author seems to be lecturing his readers at times as to how to conduct their lives making himself the arbitrator of right and wrong.
Well written and engaging others than that,

Another brilliant book in the series

Torsten Weitzes a fantastic fantasy writer and I was not let down with the 4th book in his 13th Paladin series. His characters continue to evolve in an ever more hostile world and their encounters are beautifully described. I highly recommend this book.

Good but could be better

I enjoyed the story but there were too many stereotypes in it .
Was it really necessary for the people of the jungle to be dark skinned and naked or for the man character to be so concerned about it.

Better world building need
Still liked the story though
