Summary

Not all monsters are make-believe.

When a badly mutilated body washes up on the shores of Loch Ness, DCI Jack Logan's dream of a quiet life in the Highlands is shattered.

While the media speculates wildly about monster attacks, Jack and the Major Investigations Team must act fast to catch the killer before they can strike again.

But with Nessie-hunters descending on the area in their dozens, and an old enemy rearing his ugly head, the case could well turn out to be the most challenging of Jack's career.

And, if he isn't careful, the last.

Death and dark humour combine in this fast-paced Tartan noir crime thriller set in the Highlands of Scotland.

‘DCI Logan is sure to become one of Scotland’s best-loved detectives.’ (Adam Croft)

Excellent!

I downloaded the first book on a whim and I've eaten my way through the series - I love how unpredictable the story can be and how the characters are developed. Narration is great!

OK..but guessed the "Whodunnit"- sort of.

I enjoyed this, like the first in the series. However despite the excellent narration, ifind the lead character a little implausible.

The plot was ok, but i do have a tendancy to guess the murderer without actually actively thinking about who or why.

it's a book, a book is entertainment, i was entertained. pulp fiction i suppose.

would i recomend it..yes, but i would put other a way in front.

After book one i asked myself, in my review, would i buy book two. My answer was "Probably".

But...will i buy book three.
......hmm??....More than likely, yes.

Excellent narration

Enjoyed this 2nd book in the series, well narrated. Slightly predictable which was a real shame! Perhaps a different title ...

Twister

More twists than a Curly Wurly and just as tasty. Looking forward to the next one.

Good humour. Great narration.

Enjoyed the narrator. Really gets into the characters. The story seemed to end quickly, almost as if the writer had lost interest or had something better to do. Good listen though.

Enjoyed but attention to detail required

I’m halfway through this book - and of course I’ll finish it but frustrated at some inaccuracies that should be known by a Scottish author or at the very least researched to check if unsure. Eg. The school is ‘due to be inspected by Offsted’ anyone involved in Scottish education will know that Offsted do not operate in Scotland. Education Scotland are the inspection body.
