Summary

JACK RYAN IS TRAPPED. AN ASSASSIN INCOMING. TIME TO TAKE CONTROL.

A Russian plot to seize the Panama Canal plunges President Jack Ryan into a desperate fight for his life in the latest entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.

President Jack Ryan travels to Colombia to support the president who is facing a challenge from autocratic forces. What seems like an ordinary opportunity to preach the values of democracy quickly turns into a nightmare when a full-blown military coup erupts.

President Ryan and his Secret Service team are cut off and out of communication. In Washington, the Vice President is coordinating a military response, but there's still one more obstacle.

One of the main forces behind the coup is the ruthless criminal organization known as the Camarilla. They've had their tentacles deep inside the plot to overthrow the government. And now they have an unexpected opportunity they can't resist - the chance to kill President Jack Ryan.

Normally love Jack Ryan but this one was done in a haste

I love Jack Ryan books, especially Jack Ryan jr books. Unfortunately for this one the story was shallow and short. It felt like a half done rush job. Sorry. Look forward to the next one though.

Excellent

Every book that I've listened to by Tom Clancy is very good, and this is no exception.

Good concise story

Although the timeframe of the story is quite short there is plenty going on. I like the use of the “Campus” gang in a Jack Ryan Snr story. Good mix of both sets of characters.

Much better

A much better story and better performed than recent ones. Less nauseating God bless America and less padding out with irrelevant character background.. Good build up but end very rushed. Narrator less syrupy than recent books

Decent effort

Book finished too soon, rushed through the end of the book could have been so much better

A step towards the past.

Really clever theme of bringing Clarke’s past in to the present with Cobb. Most of the time the story felt slow and struggled to keep me engaged. Sometimes felt more like a geography lesson that something out of the Ryan universe.
