Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
The gripping new thriller in Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series - inspiration for the blockbuster Amazon Prime TV series.
America is under attack from within. Patients in hospitals, clinics and at home are dying when the drugs they need for survival turn out to be ineffective copies. A corrupt pharmaceutical billionaire has spent millions supporting radical groups while using the chaos they engender to cover his money-making schemes, but for a man with such towering ambitions, the only real goal is power.
To get that, he'll have to eliminate the only impediment in his path - Jack Ryan. The question is, how do you attack the most closely guarded man in the world? For a man who has built his fortune on underhanded dealings and misdirection, the answer is as simple as it is shocking.
He'll have to kidnap the first lady.

Slow start, Good Finish
Not the best Jack or Junior book but worth reading. I am looking forward to the new one out in a few weeks.

Tom Clancy must be spinning in his grave.
the last few stories using Clancy's characters have been bad to terrible. But this happens to be so bad Tom Clancy isn't turning in his grave but spinning. Part of the story felt like it was only included to pad the story out, even that didn't help the flow. There is so much more about how bad the story is that it seems like someone who stuffers from ADHD wrote this. This is only my opinion that other people might differ.

A good book... but the ending was rushed
it was a little disappointing that after the hours of build up the whole situation was essentially resolved in just over two sentences... the main action scene, the climax of the book surely should have lasted at least 1 proper chapter.

One of the better of the recent Jack Ryan Jr books
Much better than Target Acquired. But that wasn't hard! In this book Jack Jr isn't a superhero and the technical spy and military stuff is at the highest techno thriller level! Great entertainment if you for some reason can't stop reading/listening to this JJJr series.

Good book, dreadful narrator
Sadly, a good story ruined by a narrator that seemed to think he was introducing WWF wrestling rather than reading a book. Won't be getting any more by him....

Enjoyed the audiobook, but English accent is iffy.
I've enjoyed the Ryan series, looking forward to the next one coming out, hopefully soon.
