About this listen
Murder, terrorism, and mass killings were prominent in the news for 2018, and in this true crime anthology, you will find the cases that made international headlines from January to the end of December.
An entire year has been included in this audiobook, and as we go into 2019, it’s important to remember not only the shocking events that took place, but also to acknowledge the many that lost their lives at the hands of others this year.
The types of cases included are:
- Serial killers
- Family murders
- Mass murders
- School shootings
- Major hacking incidents
- Terrorist acts
- Cold cases
There have been many advances in technology that has led to the uncovering on many suspects in cold cases, including the identity of the Golden State Killer, a secret that had remained hidden for decades. A number of cold case murders were solved this year, bringing an end to the torture the affected families and the investigators had endured for so many years.
Tragically, school shootings were still prevalent, and mass shootings seem to be on the rise. Terrorism struck many corners of the world, in a variety of ways, but results were swifter in identifying perpetrators and taking action.
Some of the featured events in this anthology include:
- Marshall County High School shooting
- The Turpin family
- Larry Nassar and Harvey Weinstein
- Coincheck hacking
- Bruce McArthur - serial killer
- Atlanta cyberattack
- International spy poisonings
- Scottsdale spree killings
- Miles family murders
- Murder of XXXTentacion
- Pittsburgh synagogue massacre
- Mail bombing
Plus many, many more. If you are a lover of true crime, and want an anthology to add to your collection, this is the audiobook for you.

Excellently detailed true crime stories!
The author of this book definitely did their research! There is just so much detail in every story. Everything is considered, to give the listener a full overview of what happened, why it happened, and how it happened. Some of the stories are slightly disturbing to imagine, especially since the narrator brings the stories to life in a manner fit for a documentary. It also shows how violence and mental instability is still prevalent in our society, and leaves the question of "how will this stop?" ringing in the listener's mind. A truly insightful experience.

Frightening, yet fascinating!
This audiobook presents some of the most popular homicide cases from 2018. The story-telling is especially captivating, and it brings the cases to life. It is hard to imagine how crazy the world is, and I always like to be in the know. The content of this audiobook, and the stories show the amount of work the author put into finding facts, dates, and the tiniest of details to make this book unique.
I love it, and look forward to more true crime books from the author.

True crime throwback
Epic book! The details, narration and stories in this book are off the charts. 2018 was a year with lots of events, and the crazy crime rates too were equally significant. While I found a few of the stories in this book familiar, there were some new details I also learnt. The way the stories are developed makes the book even more interesting, while still frightening. As a true crime fan, who craves the thrill of a good crazy story, I'll say this book didn't disappoint.

24 hour boring bulletin
One rolls into another like a constant headline. Voice is almost one tone. No excitement of drama. I love this kind of thing but this one was not for me
