Learn how to succeed from one very successful man in the essential Sunday Times number one best-selling book Winners: And How They Succeed, written by Alastair Campbell with this audiobook edition co-narrated by Campbell and Daniel Weyman. With job titles including journalist, author, political aide and chief spokesman and strategist for British Prime Minister Tony Blair for three elections, Alastair Campbell knows success. Here he assesses whether success is something that can be learned by anyone, examining cases in a range of different fields. This enlightening listen is not one to miss if you plan on achieving goals successfully. Available now from Audible.

Summary

The Sunday Times number-one best seller. How people succeed and how you can, too.

Alastair Campbell knows all about winning. As Tony Blair’s chief spokesman and strategist, he helped guide the Labour Party to victory in three successive general elections, and he’s fascinated by what it takes to win.

How do sports stars excel, entrepreneurs thrive, or individuals achieve their ambitions? Is their ability to win innate? Or is the winning mind-set something we can all develop?

Drawing on the wisdom of an astonishing array of talented people, from elite athletes to top managers, from rulers of countries to rulers of global business empires, Alastair Campbell uses his forensic skills as well as his own experience of politics and sport to get to the heart of success.

He examines how winners tick. He considers how they build great teams. He analyses how they deal with unexpected setbacks and new challenges. He judges what the very different worlds of politics, business and sport can learn from one another. And he sets out a blueprint for winning that we can all follow.

A very enjoyable read

What did you like most about Winners?

I thought it was really well written, I found all the interviews fascinating. I love my sport and I'm not big on politics however I found every description of each individual extremely interesting including Nelson Mandela, Tony Blair and even a very interesting view of Putin I might add. I like how Alister pitched his O.S.T model against each of the winners view point and I have to say it is a strategy that has a lot of weight behind it. I wouldn't call this a self help book like a lot of the others I read, however there is a lot to be learnt from this book and very interesting and entertaining too. Excellent *****

Great Book

I have to admit to an irrational preconceived dislike for Alastair Campbell. Somehow his title of Spin Doctor is forever associated negatively with his time working with the Labour Party. However, I found this book to be a compelling listen and Alastair's insights to the winning psychology and mindset of high achievers to be insightful and plainly described. Not only have I thoroughly enjoyed this book but I might just about have put aside my irrational dislike for what he ended up symbolising politically.

Well crafted, thought through and presented

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Highly recommendable. The author has great credibility in the topics he writes about drawing on his experiences and skills from front line politics, time in the corporate sector and a genuine fascination for what sets others apart.

What did you like best about this story?

The way the author provides working applicable and practical examples of how and when theory meets application.

What does Alistair Campbell and Daniel Weyman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

The ability to relax into the sound of voice and the way the narrator emphasises at various points allows you to interpret when the author wants to be forceful versus using a light touch.

Well written and narrated

Militant Labour supporters should listen to this book just to get a grasp of the concept of winning and what it takes.

It certainly doesn't involve mass protests and riots when you don't get your own way in an election.

Really enjoyed this book. It's a big one mind, but I have finished the 14 hour book audiobook in less than a week.

Many stories and tips from successful legends in their own right (wether you like them or not) such as Richard Branson, Warren Buffet, Jose Mourinho and even Her Majesty the Queen.

This book is suitable for everyone, whatever your background or wealth.

Thank you Alastair Campbell.

Interesting, well reaserched and applicable

Incredibly useful book to me personally. Not a natural sports fan but loved this completely. It's methodical and interesting and re-enforces points to make them usable for "normal people" because Alastair had access to outstanding individuals the analysis is not like a one off interview it's almost like an extracted model of the steps those individuals take. It's really opened my mind.
