About this listen
For me, choice might as well be a wish. My parents died in a fiery car crash when I was barely sixteen. I’m gay. I’m also totally in love with my brother. I didn’t choose any of that. In fact, I’ve tried like hell to deny it. But here I am in all my gay, brother-loving, no-parentals glory.
Technically, Max isn’t my brother. Not by blood anyway. That should make it less ick, right? Considering he calls my parents mom and dad, probably not. Also, did I mention he’s straight?
So that’s me: the freestyle swimmer doing my best to keep my sexuality on the down-low while simultaneously wishing my feelings for Max will evaporate into thin air. Too bad he acts like he’s my keeper and my heart shakes every time his eyebrow ring glints in the sun or he levels his opaque stare on me with an intensity matched by nothing else.
My desire to keep my personal life personal drowns at the bottom of the pool when a fellow Elite lets everyone in on my business, which throws Max into macho protective mode all over again.
Enough is enough, though. I’m forcing myself to move on.
Maybe the best way to forget about my forbidden crush is to find a new one. I have options. More than I realized.
Unfortunately, none of them are leather-wearing, tattoo-sporting, motorcycle-riding grumpholes.
So here I am wishing for Max while someone else wishes for me.
Someone who decides if they can’t have me…
No one will.
Please note that Wish contains homophobia. There is also mention of child abuse and parental death. This book also contains a male/male sibling-esque relationship and mentions of male assault. Some listeners may find these things uncomfortable.

SPICY Perfection!!
I knew I was going to love Max from the first few books. He is the perfect broody bad boy, except he really isn't a bad boy at all which makes him even more swoon worthy. I loved this whole book! It was amazing!!
Wes is the sweetest, most loving person and wants to see the good in everyone even when they don't deserve it, he's sweet and caring to a fault. I hated everything he went through but loved watching him grow stronger after all of it. I also loved watching his and Max's love grow and bloom. It was perfection! These two were so dang spicy and I was here for all of it! I loved their love the most.
Owen Keith and Scott Rose had the perfect voices for these two! I loved every minute of listening to them! They did amazing!

it was ok
Wish is Wes and Max story and it's the 3rd book in the Westbrook Elite series and while I had high expectations for these two, it was not met.
There were parts of the story I enjoyed, but there were other parts I didn't care for.
This story was intense, emotional, steamy and to some extent forbidden and it gave so much feels.
Max was super protective and possessive over Wes and at times it was way OTT and while I was willing to put that aside, the "good boy" aspect
of their relationship just had me rolling my eyes as Wes came across a bit child like in their dynamic.
There was a couple sub plots that felt a bit extreme and dragged out.
I loved Win, Wes's brother and enjoyed the banter he had with both Wes and Max. I liked Wes's friends and also enjoyed their group banter.
Overall this wasn't my favorite book but would still recommend it for those that love OTT Possessive MC.
The audiobook was narrated by Owen Keith and Scott Rose. They did a good job bringing out the feels and emotions of the characters. Their voices were clear and understandable and I enjoyed listening to them narrate this novel

My Thoughts on Wish
Wish is another excellent book in the Westbrook series, and the first one with an M/M couple. But if you’ve been reading and loving the previous two books like I have, you saw this coming. Max and Wes have had this magnetism and Max’s overboard protectiveness of Wes did not come across as brotherly. It was good to finally get in their heads and see everything from their perspective, even if it sometimes broke my heart. The horrible treatment Max suffered from his dad was something no one should ever have to suffer. But in those moments of darkness and as they grew up Max had Wes and his family, which is what made things complicated for them. I loved how everything played out in the end though. This story also had the additional layer added to the romance that I’ve come to enjoy in this series of who is after one of the main characters and why. Seeing that all unfold helped keep things interesting. Plus, the narrators both did a pretty good job, so it made for good listening and an overall enjoyable experience.

Wes and the Ellite
I enjoyed Wes story. The series has a mystery surrounding the MCs and this one is not the exception. Someone is against Wes, and makes his life hell. But Max is there for him, not blood brother but he has always been his protective adopted sibling. I love how the Ellite gang surrounded Wes, made him part of their pose. Max is broody but he passes their test. Very entertaining!

Audiobook Obsession Reviewer flock reviewer
This was not an easy listen it has so much depth and emotion that came through so clearly with the narration. I loved the way the main characters just could not quit they needed each other in their lives and it made them better.
This is one of those stories that I love to just drown myself in and live in their world for the time it takes to finish the book. I loved how much more emotion I felt listening to the narrators bringing it to life vs me reading it. A wonderful listen.

Drawn out
I was really looking forward to listening to this as I enjoyed the first two in the series andI love MM more . I felt the story was drawn out it was several hours longer than it needed to be and I lost interest and I also guessed who Wes’s attackers were less than half way through . Although I did finish it I found it very hard concentrating.

Emotional and sweet
Wes is such an adorable guy, he is so sweet and kind. He has gone through so much the past few years, his life has been full of so many emotional things.
I loved the angst and chemistry between Wes & Max. They both have these things that in their minds they have to just deal with, and it makes them both a mess.
Watching them both realize how much they felt was Angsty and swoony.
I love how possessive and caring Max is.
This was another great story for the Westbrook Elite.

I wish i could read this again already
If you like pining, longing and unrequited love thats not quite as unrequited as you might think this is the book for you. Check your TW's if you can cause this gets a bit messy in spots. But I loved seeing Wes get his HEA. I laughed, I blushed and I could barely put this down. This might be my favourite of the series.

So much yearning and emotion in this story!
The Angst, The Tension, The chokehold that Max and Wes have on my heart is so intense. I have been craving this book since we first met Max and Wes and it did not disappoint! This story has the forbidden aspect of step brother, brother's best friend, but there's also years of yearning and pining and built up emotion that drips from the page. This book was just everything. I kept leaving messages for a friend telling her how much I needed her to read this book, because everyone needs to love these two as much as I do! Ryan and Jamie and Rory and Madison were definitely present in this book, but because of the relationship and history between Max and Wes, the majority of the story took place away from them. We also got to meet Wes' brother Win in this book who is a ball of sunshine, and definitely has some secrets that I can't wait to be revealed. Another stellar book in the Westbrook Elite series!! I can't wait for more!
In December I did a reread in audio and loved revisiting these two. Both narrators were new to me. I found the narrator for Wes to be perfect for the character, he gave a great performance and also did a good interpretation of Max. The narrator who did Max’s POV sounded a little older than I liked, and I felt he read more than performed his chapters. Overall I loved the audiobook and enjoyed my trip back to Westbrook.
I received an arc of this book and voluntarily give my review
