L. Frank Baum
About this listen
Here is Linda Marshall’s BBC Radio 4 full-cast dramatisation of L Frank Baum's children's classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, originally broadcast as part of the BBC Christmas 2009 season.
When a tornado strikes her farmhouse in Kansas, young Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are lifted to the magical Land of Oz, the strange home of the Munchkins. There she embarks upon a perilous journey, befriending the Tinman, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion, who join her quest to find the Wizard of Oz and a way back home.
This timeless story, which has enchanted generations of children both young and old, is brought to life again in this dramatisation. It stars Amelia Clarkson as Dorothy; Jonathan Keeble as the Wizard of Oz, Kalidah, and Uncle Henry; Kevin Eldon as the Scarecrow; Burn Gorman as the Tinman; Zubin Varla as the Lion; and Emma Fielding as the witches of the North, South, and West, and as Aunt Em. It also stars Andrew Westfield and Graeme Hawley. With Original Music by Olly Fox and directed by Nadia Molinari.

Wonderful story, beautiful performance.
I haven't read a complete English book except the reading materials for exams. After listened this story, I'd like to find the book to read, cause some details still need to be explored.
Dorothy, Straw man, Tin man, and coward lion. What they need, just like what I lack of. Courage, heart, brain, and go home. Sometimes, I think the fairy tales contain the most important parts of people's quality. It's cute and obvious, so all I need to do is just do it.
For the first time, I wrote sooooo many words, not for exam writing, but to express myself consciously. I like this way, and I like audible.
By the way, I love audio books, but I haven't finished one before. I just played the tape, and went to sleep. As an English learner, I found it's difficult to understand via school teaching. So I choose to listen to podcasts, plus audible books. One day before not long, I just realized I can understand what they said. Oh, wonderful. Thanks Audible!!!
