Disappointingly shallow
I expected something more deep, something backed by actual science. The science might have been there, but it wasn't explained properly. It left a sour taste in my mouth and came through more like a superficial self-help book.

Better than I could have ever hoped for!
This is one of, if not the best audio book I have ever purchased. I could relate to 90% of the content and there are a lot of useful tips and strategies given to overcome the issues I face in every day life. This is a book I think most people would benefit from, social anxiety or not. The narrators voice is very calm and easy to understand. It's the sort of book you will re-listen to and refer back to when necessary. 100% would recommend.

interesting read
I thoroughly enjoyed this audio book. It is extremely well narrated, I do find it hard to find books where I enjoy the narrator as many sound like robotic Americans talking through a speaker system. I will use some of the tools to build a more efficient and happier me.

It all makes sense now
If you have social anxiety but struggle to understand why, you must listen to Carl. He explains everything you need to understand about yourself and gives you the tools to cope and the mindset not to care so much. It’s a refreshing read and a bit of an awakening really. I love the fact, the author is narrating his own book as well. Because it’s read the way the author intended it be, so there’s no third person Chinese whispers. He starts to give you explanations of why you feel the way you do, right for the beginning and continues to do so, all the way through. Definitely one to keep listening to when you feel you need it because none of it is going to get old and every chapter gives you one more nugget of advice that makes you feel stronger.

Brilliant advice at the perfect time
What a treasure trove of truth and advice. Love the presentation. Especially the advice to put your chin up whenever entering a room, put it in practice straight away before a confrontation with my boss and gained a much better outcome, thanks!

Plain and simple!
Bloody love Carl Vernon. Listened to this in one sitting.
Some great points. So many! I can’t believe how much content is in this short 5 hr audio. Will have to listen to this again so that everything definitely goes in.
Vernon writes plainly and simply but there’s just so much content!
I definitely would recommend this book if you’re looking for some inspiration.

Underwhelmed
I really wanted to like this book as Carl is a good guy and talks a lot of sense. There are s couple of good points that will be useful, but I didn't take an awful lot away from this book.
