Hall had played the VRMMORPG, Sky Realms Online, since beta. During one gaming session, a freak accident traps Hall and other players in the game. They awaken to find out their bodies are comatose and they have been downloaded fully into the virtual world. Even worse, the rules have changed, they've been forced back to level 1, and permadeath might be possible. Join Hall and his growing circle of friends and enemies, both Players and NPCs, as they discover that Sky Realms Online is not the same game they knew. New lands, new foes, and new mysteries. 

It's been weeks since Hall and his newly formed guild, the Breakridge Irregulars, returned to Skara Brae. The village continues to grow but faces new challenges every day. Gaining a level opens fresh quests for Hall to take on, and leads the Breakridge Irregulars on a voyage for their first dungeon crawl in an updated Sky Realms Online. Hall will encounter prisoners from unknown lands, demons, new foes and more in the tunnels of the abandoned Dwarven outpost of Greenfire Depths.

The excitement of life in the wild calls to him, but so do his responsibilities. Both duty and adventure collide when members of the Greencloak Rangers, Hall's favorite faction from the original game, arrive in Skara Brae seeking Leigh's help in her role as Druid Custodian. 

Eric McCaffrey has been playing Zag in the VR-MMOFPS Battlegrounds Online for a while now. The more he plays, the more entrenched into the game he gets. Sky Realms Online is the largest and most popular Virtual Reality MMORPG ever made. Hall and his companions must make the long trek to the city of Silverpeak Keep for much-needed supplies, or they'll risk losing everything.

Hall had hoped things would finally start to settle down. He should've known better. He's been trapped within the new version of Sky Realms Online for months. Mostly at peace with it, he's started to make a new life within the game world. He's found a woman to love, the NPC Druid Leigh, and a village to call home. Skara Brae is still mostly ruins but he now has friends and citizens to help rebuild. But he's still missing many of the resources needed. 

Eric McCaffrey is very good at VRMMORPGs; he's played most of them, but the lack of funds is starting to affect his ability to play popular games. It's time to move on to something more...obscure. Battlegrounds Online is the only game of its kind. A VRMMOFPS. A military warfare game so realistic that it scares away most players daring enough to try it.
