About this listen
With a new roof and working electrics in place on her villa in Italy, Rosie is ready for the next phase of turning the 22-roomed derelict Italian villa into a home. It needs to be ready in time for her elderly Irish parents to move in and her daughter to finally visit after being separated for so long. However, with renovation disasters, endless negotiations with the Shouty Woman at the bank, and the several shades of suffocating mold in every room, it seems like the house will never be a home for Rosie and her family, let alone her octogenarian parents from Ireland.
The overenthusiastic tradesmen who put water in the electrics and leave unexpected bills in the letterbox strengthen the thought that perhaps it would be easier to leave the "villa in Italy" dream behind and just pack up and move back to Ireland.
Funny women's memoir book.

Words cannot describe the emotions! This book completes me ❤️
With each of Rosie’s books she adds more layers. First one was deep but also taking you on a crazy and funny journey. Second one added a story of hilarious perseverance and staying sane through Covid. This book completes me. As well as all of the above it is comedy guide through the muddy waters of Italian bureaucracy. I no longer listen to Rosie’s books alone. My husband joined me on my third round of listens and we unpick the subjects, laugh out loud and marvel over Rosie’s talent. She turns reality of ex-pat life into cracking emotional life lines for her readers. I am obsessed with her work and all social media updates.
