Summary

At home alone for the holidays, Agatha Raisin decides to host a dinner party for the elder residents in her Cotswold village of Winter Parva. Agatha's never been much of a homemaker, but she's dead set on making this the perfect holiday for the 'crumblies', as she affectionately calls them. She's decorated a tree while fending off her cats, Hodge and Boswell, and even made a (lumpy) Christmas pudding in between swigs of rum. But when Agatha dumps the pudding on the head of the local self-proclaimed lothario - an 85-year-old with a beer belly and fingers like sausages - his death by dessert proves more than a trifle as mysteries mount higher than the season's snowfall. So much for trying to do good by her neighbors. Now Agatha needs no less than a Christmas miracle to get herself out of this one.

Not my sort of story

Struggled to finish it. Sorry. Might try one of the other Agatha Raisin stories. I haven't even watched the TV series.

short and fun.

Good old Agatha in a fun festive tale of murder and mystery. Not too taxing, it is no Agatha Christie, but preformed excellently as always.

Fun, short story!

I am delighted to have this included in my audible membership. I would not use a credit or pay for such a short story, as I see from some of the reviews other have done.

However it is a fun Christmas themed listen. I feel that you may appreciate it more if you have read/watched/listened to other AR.

I enjoyed listening to this on my dog walk.

Amusing short

Penelope Keith IS Agatha Raisin. This is an amusing short story, a Christmas who done it. Penelope Keith's voices are superbly varied & fit the characters well. I certainly won't be following her Christmas pudding recipe.

Another great story - this is a short interlude

I am addicted to this series of books. So well written and presented. The stories are my ironing and cooking companions I can’t go without.
I always look forward to the next book.

Had me Laughing

This was very funny. It the sort of scene I could actually picture some people I know in the kitchen. Just picturing some of the scenes in your head, will have you laughing. Despite being short, (As I love these Agatha Raisin Series with Penelope Keith as the Narrator) I found this very entertaining and will have to listen to this one again, especially when I'm feeling a bit low.

A Perfect, Quick Festive Listen.

If you could sum up Agatha Raisin and the Christmas Crumble in three words, what would they be?

Fun Festive Froth

What about Penelope Keith’s performance did you like?

A good, plummy narration.

Any additional comments?

I bought this book because it was the deal of the day. It definitely isn't worth the £6.99 that it's currently priced at. But, that moan apart, it was a nice festive listen as I wrapped up the Christmas presents.
