Massively damaged in Aliens and Alien 3, the synthetic Bishop asked to be shut down forever. His creator, Michael Bishop, has other plans. He seeks the Xenomorph knowledge stored in the android’s mind and brings Bishop back to life—but for what reason? No longer an employee of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, Michael tells his creation that he seeks to advance medical research for the benefit of humanity. Yet where does he get the resources needed to advance his work. With whom do his new allegiances lie?
Bishop is pursued by Colonial Marines Captain Marcel Apone, commander of the Il Conde and younger brother of Master Sergeant Alexander Apone, one of the casualties of the doomed mission to LV-426. Also on his trail are the “Dog Catchers,” commandos employed by Weyland-Yutani.

Great expansion of the Alien Universe
Great story from several perspectives, continuing the trend of recent Alien novels to flesh out the lore and universe it resides. well written characters and set pieces.

Welcome back Bishop
A story about recovering Bishop, one of the best characters in the franchise, was an interesting concept so I had to pre-order it. Having listened to all the other Alien audiobooks I didn't set my hopes too high, some were great and some were very mediocre. The first thing that threw me was the change of narrator with each chapter, I didn't appreciate it at first and it felt a bit disjointed, but I grew accustomed to it and settled in to the pace. I think the author wanted us to care about the individual marines with lots of back-story presented, but I didn't. No marines however colourful will ever replace Hicks, Hudson, Vasquez et al. Don't even try!! Once the story got going, and that took a while, it was well paced and full of action. Bishop's narrator is uncommonly convincing and that's probably it's best selling point. I would definitely recommend a listen.

well narrated and a very good story, really enjoyed it! familiar characters and a blend of different narrators made this an enjoyable listen

Enjoyable
An enjoyable story and worth the listen. Looking forward to next one in the story ark. Would be interesting to see a separate ark focused on Weyland Yutanis history and interactions with xenomorphs and predators

Surprisingly good
Simple story but enjoyable, Lots of Easter eggs to original franchise, constantly moving forwards. Characters developed enough to make you want to know what happens next. Much better than some of the Alien/Predator Audible books.

Revisit with an old acquaintance
Much preferred Audibles alternative Alien 3, but quite enjoyed this little tale - although some aspects of the story seemed predictable (i.e. Bad guys we can control the aliens, oh dear someone left the door open and one got out.. oops.). Sets the stage for Aliens: Bishop 2 by the end, which I will listen to as well.

Great story and narration!
Great story from a timeline after Alien 3! Love the new and the return of old favourite characters! A must have not only for hardcore fans!
