About this listen
Bloodwraith thought of himself as an effective villain, until a single adventurer destroyed his entire lair. With his last breath, he switched bodies with the adventurer and discovered that his world was built on lies. Alien beings from another dimension were using his world as a game...and now, he was one of them.
The problem is, Bloodwraith has no experience being an adventurer. He was a mage, but his new body is only good at hitting things. He relied on undead minions, but now, he has no choice but to depend on other people. And worst of all, strange boxes are constantly appearing in his vision, describing the world in unfamiliar, nonsensical terms.
Taking over the world is off the table because the alien gods might be watching. To survive, Bloodwraith will need to learn the truth about himself and his world. That means acting like an adventurer, at least for now.

Fun LitRPG!
In a lot of ways this was a LitRPG fantasy with a classic feel to it. It was set in a typical RPG style world and followed the RPG game set-up fairly faithfully. Where it excelled was in its character development and in the fact that the slight twist in the unusual nature of the main character added a bit of humour to the story that made the stats we got a bit more tolerable than usual. It really helped that the main character was as outraged by their presence as the reader!
All in all I found this story pretty engaging and cannot wait to listen to more of Bloodwraith's adventures as he seeks to grow his power and to find out more about the strange invaders to his world.
I was not a giant fan of Bryan G. Lamb's narration. My initial reaction to him was pretty negative but I'm glad I stuck it out as he did grow on me and in the end I feel he did a decent job. He was particularly good voicing Bloodwraith but did struggle a bit with the secondary characters especially the female ones.

cant wait after next one............
Very similar to "Life Reset" by Shemer Kuznits, one of my favourite litrpgs of all time. If you liked that book, then surely you'll love this one. The writing is excellent, it's got great dialogue, marvellous characters and gripping storyline. I had a fun-filled weekend with this one.
