Summary

This book relays my stories of being a country veterinarian in a rural area treating all sorts of animals. I have been writing down my experiences at the office and in the field for 30 years. These stories are often educational, emotional, humorous and unpredictable, but always entertaining.

This audiobook is my first effort to share them with a wider audience. The stories involve working with all kinds of animals, but also involves interacting with their owners. Sometimes, the second is more of a challenge than the first, which makes for interesting stories.

Disappointing

This was an "ok" audiobook with some stories that were mildly amusing but not nearly as humourous as I'd expected. Maybe the humour just didn't work for me but I generally love a good laugh while listening and this just didn't have that effect. While I wanted to like it I was a little disappointed and quite glad it was a shorter book. Can't truthfully say I enjoyed it much. Narration was good.

I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and am voluntarily writing an honest and unbiased review.

5 Star Listen

A 5 Star listen from Randy L. Skaggs,it is well written and fast moving keeping the listener entertained with sometimes sad, more often humorous tales of both the animals and owners of said animals. I worked with animals for many years and could easily relate to many of the situations which made the story all the more enjoyable, although a spitting Llama was something I never encountered and am thankful not to have experienced. Set in the pan handle of Texas Randy comes across a great variety of both common and exotic animals. Tom Lennons narration was superb, it was if you were listening to the vet himself. Highly recommended.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this honest unbiased review.
