About this listen
Things are going well for Alex Verus. He's on moderately good terms with the Council, his apprentice is settling in, and his shop in Camden is gaining quite a reputation.
But when a mysterious woman bursts into the Arcana Emporium one night with an assassin on her tail, Alex is thrown into a plot to revive a long-forbidden ritual. His old enemies are after the secret as well as a Council mage named Belthas and a mercenary named Garrick, and at least one of them is trying to get Alex killed - if he only knew which.
He can see the future, but knowing who to trust is something else.

Excellent second book
Enjoyed the first book but this one is far better with the characters development and 'fleshing out'... A must for readers of Magician' and its ilk.

Calms the Dresden files addiction
Same feel as the Dresden files. Really good. Just the right pacing so you are interested throughout, and an overall good length.

I dare you to lose yourself
A wonderfully crafted and perfectly narrated book. The story is completely captivating, daring, no, inviting you to listen at every spare moment you have.
If you don't have a spare several hours , don't want to be lost in a perfectly crafted world of believable magic and mystery, don't want to start to feel like you are being trusted with secrets as a close friend and don't want the listen to the spell that is the narration of Gildart Jackson, then this is not the book for you. You have been warned.

A good sequel after a good start
If you could sum up Cursed in three words, what would they be?
Fast-paced magical fun
Who was your favorite character and why?
Cinder: for a bad guy, he's a really good bad guy
Which scene did you most enjoy?
The discovery in the giant cavern.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I had a reservation or two before staring to listen (see my review of the first book), but I'm relieved to say that they were totally unfounded.
Any additional comments?
Harry Dresden, PC Grant, Alex Verus: they share a (more or less) common universe.
I like this universe and I'll be 'reading' as much books from it as I can.

Much, Much Better!
This novel makes me appreciate the first novel even more! The characters are already known and the story can move on a pace - and it does!!
I’m not going to say “don’t compare this to others in this genre”, others have already said that. My piece of advice is: speed up the narration. It’s a long enough tale, so it won’t seem to drag and Alex will stop sounding as old as Nightingale from the Rivers of London series. Comparing them does this series a disservice, as you’ll always prefer Peter and miss out on the fun of this story (& world).
The narrator is great at a faster pace, he doesn’t seem as old and therefore you’re less likely to be confused (& slightly uncomfortable) by some of his commentary.
I’ll stick with this until the next Rivers, this is a great ‘plan B’!

Not quite as good as book 1 but...
Not quite as good as book 1 but still well worth it. Plot development in the middle is a bit slow and overdone with regard to the “military” action but the characters shine through and I can see possibilities for the full series :)

Great Listen
I was not sure about this book at first, as the first book was very good, However this builds well on the first book and loved how the author builds on the characters. I find the blend of modern day London with Magic a fantastic blend and will look forward to going to look for the locations when I am next in London. Just love it.

Book two as good if not better than book one.
I didn't think I was going to get on with these books but the twists and turns keen you hooked.
If I have one criticism it would be for the over use of the word 'gotten'!!
