About this listen
It is 2555, more than two years after the Master Chief went missing in action following a decisive conflict on Installation 00 - the massive, extragalactic Forerunner construct known as the Ark - as part of the final chapter in humanity's bloody 30-year struggle against the overwhelming forces of the Covenant. Now, as a tenuous peace exists between the humans and the Elites, a startling scientific discovery is made - and the riddle behind its Forerunner origins could very well seal the fate of the entire galaxy within a matter of weeks.
In order to unravel these dangerous secrets, a heroic, hastily formed coalition of humans and Elites must attempt to overcome their differences as they embark on a covert mission back to the Ark - an astonishing, enigmatic place beyond comprehension from which few have returned and where mortal danger awaits them all....

Interesting concept and should have been Halo 4's story line.
The performance was once again very good and what you have come to expect from Scott Brick, but could use a little more variety and tempo. The story was very differnt, but a very logical storyline to follow, however I feel it was missing somthing and came to an end too quickly. All in all a good halo story but not the best.

Wonderfully whimsical!
If you’ve played Halo 3 you’ll know what the Ark is and you’ll have a good idea of how you think it works and what it’s like to go there. Well, this book makes Halo 3’s version of the Ark seem boring in comparison. You learn so much more about this fascinating environment than you ever did during Halo 3 and small plot holes you didn’t know existed are filled in. It’s a fantastic practice in world building and it give us a good look at how humanity and the Elites are getting on post-treaty. It helps set up the new theology of games and introduces important characters that you should know about going into those games.
Excellent read and I can’t wait to listen to the next book in my “Great Journey” as I read through all the novels in chronological order!

A horrible mess of clichés
This book sucks. The writing is a horrible mess of melodrama and clichés, with awful dialogue.
The narration can't fix this, with the narrator sounding terribly bored.
