Summary
How hard can it be to guard the country’s biggest rockstar?
As a SEAL officer, I’m no stranger to danger, but running my own security firm is a new challenge. Finding the right bodyguard for each client isn’t easy. Our next gig? My little brother’s best friend, rock god Ezra Moon, has a security crisis. Ezra is convinced I’m the right man for the job, but I’m not so sure.
From crowd surfing to infamous pictures, Ezra is known for taking risks. It’s no wonder his record label thinks he needs a keeper on tour.
But there’s not a tour bus big enough to contain our incendiary attraction. Ezra and his antics push every last one of my buttons, but the real problem is how much I want to kiss some sense into him. He’s a client, and angry make-out sessions aren’t the answer. Yet we keep finding ourselves alone and burning up the sheets until our secret fling threatens to scorch both of us.
I’ve spent my whole life running from the spotlight, trying to distance myself from my notorious father. Ezra wants to live his best life on the biggest stage. A future seems impossible, but our feelings are undeniable. Can I admit how hard I’ve fallen for Ezra without losing everything?
Hard Job is book two in a brand-new SEAL bodyguard series. It features a reluctant SEAL bodyguard, a mouthy rock star with a heart of gold, molten chemistry, and pie. Lots of pie. Also, all the high heat, big emotions, and found family feels listeners expect from this fan-favorite military romance author. Join A-List security for this new series featuring former SEALs and the celebrity clients who win their hearts. Happy endings and no cliffhangers guaranteed!

Fighting for your better half
The romance between Duncan and Ezra was swoon worthy.
The straight laced, curmudgeon of an ex SEAL and hipster rock star couldn't be more polar opposites.
Their was initial animosity between the two but once they let each other in a little, the floodgates opened up and it was all about the vulnerability between these two men.
Duncan doesn't really believe in love because he hasn't exactly had good relationship role models so he inherently holds himself off as very reserved because he's terrified of losing his heart.
Ezra is exactly what Duncan needs to shake up his staid lifestyle.
He's funny, sweet and sees that at his core, Duncan needs someone to take care of him because he gives so much of himself to others.
Duncan in turn realizes that despite what people might think, Ezra definitely doesn't want to always be on and needs to put himself first as well.
The chemistry between these two was instantaneous and just kept ramping up.
It was the slow, sweet gestures and building of the relationship that sealed the deal for me.
Now I can't wait for Harley's story because I know his match is going to blow up his world in the best possible way.
Kirt Graves is one of my favorite narrators and he of course did an excellent job narrating and bringing the story to life.

Romantic and sweet
Another sweet, hot story from Annabeth Albert! Usually I love her world building and storytelling and this is good but it doesn’t captivates me or move my soul.
Kirt Graves is great!

Two great characters
Love the rockstar/bodyguard and brother's best friend tropes in any shape, form or fashion, but Albert brings us something special with Duncan. Here, as the story progresses Ezra and the reader discover that Duncan may be as tough as they come, but he has a side that he never gets to display that he finally becomes willing to let Ezra see and love. Ezra is a gem as well. He may enjoy lots of the perks of being a rockstar but he's desperately trying not to lose sight of everyone he's known and loved before he became famous. Both these guys are decent men who can actually communicate with each other to solve problems and when they get together it's a wonder everything around them isn't incinerated from the heat. This is one heck of a great series and I can't wait for more. Kirt Graves does his usual amazing job with the sizzling moments as well as the quiet, emotionally deep ones.

Another Annabeth Albert great
I love this story and have read the book before I listened to it. I haven’t come across Kirt Graves as a narrator before but they were perfect for both Ezra and Duncan. They bring both characters to life in a way that you can’t do from just reading.
Absolutely amazing listen - looking forward to the next one!

Sexy and hot; I loved it!
I loved this book when I read it with my eyes back in July 2022 and the audiobook has made me love it all over again. Kirt Graves is a wonderful audiobook performer and he does a great job with this one. There really isn’t anything else for me to say that I didn’t say in my original review shown below.
Original review:
This is book two in the A-List Security series but you won’t be lost if you missed the first one (but it might make you want to go back and read it). I somehow missed Tough Luck and now I definitely want to read it.
Duncan’s new security firm has been hired to protect Ezra, a popular rockstar who also happens to be his younger brother’s best friend. The problem is that Ezra wants Duncan to be his bodyguard and won’t accept anyone else. Ezra had a crush on Duncan when he was younger and now that he’s all grown up that attraction is back.
Duncan’s infamous Hollywood father has made him want to stay out of the spotlight. He’s determined to keep everything above board with Ezra but the attraction is sizzling between them. Getting down and dirty with his famous client isn’t in the cards – it would jeopardize the reputation of his new firm – but how can he resist the attraction he feels for Ezra.
I love how down-to-earth Ezra is. He’s an only child, born to two wonderful parents late in life. He loves spending time with them and enjoying his mother’s cooking. Duncan’s father, on the other hand, is a first-class jerk who’s only concern is for himself. He’s been awful to Duncan’s younger brother and he won’t accept that Duncan wants to be his own man and make his own way in life.
I love how wonderfully descriptive Annabeth Albert’s writing is. I can picture, in my mind, the places she writes about like I was there. I’m from Ohio and that’s where Ezra’s parents live; the writing made me want to hunt down the town where they live and experience it for myself. 😊
This book is full of feels and I loved it so much. The sexy time is HOT, I think it’s some of the hottest stuff I’ve read by Annabeth. When Ezra gets Duncan all loved up and he begs for more – WOW!
Both of these guys care for each other deeply and want to make a relationship work. Unfortunately, they each take a few missteps and cause each other some pain but that just made it so much sweeter when they finally figure things out.
